Day 5

Morning

Waking up from the nightmare she hit her head on the bathtub. Ow. Putting her hand on the back of her head to see that she was in the bathtub. Why am I here? Remembering why she was in her bathtub she got out grabbing her bat because she could not remember if she had locked both her front and back door and windows. Getting out of her bathroom to see that she had started to run to every window and door and started to unlock everything. She didn’t see anything as she inhaled and exhaled.

She grabbed her bat and backpack and breathed in and out opened the door and left looking for the youngers. When she opened her door, she saw that there was a little sun. Oh no. She whispered and grabbed a flashlight and an old wooden bat and put rags on it and lit it on fire. For some reason, they know that fire can kill them.

Walking down the street behind the human they were following. They can feel the heat of the light and of the fire from just being behind her. They saw that she put something on the ground and take something out of her backpack when she put the fire stick on the ground.

They looked at each other as they wanted to remember what it was. It seemed something like what he told him not to let her do but what was it. But what was it, the no loud music? Looking at each other they shook their head. When they were trying to remember they did not see the rouge going for her.

She was thrown to the ground and her hand was on the dead’s neck and was about to kill it when she heard do not! dad! She is by herself. She saw the dead get up that is when the dead went back to the kid. Getting a closer look, she saw that the dead were active-duty soldiers. How far have you come? She asked the kid.

With him protecting me. Or without somebody attacking him? She looked at the kid then at the dead as she said. Both. Cause you see there is no way that a Cali zombie can be trained to do that. And judging from the way that you were hiding and the dead. It is my dad. Your dad is dead and so is mine. She got up with her bat in her hand and was about to attack the dead when they heard a screech.

She ran to her backpack and grabbed it and ran to hide behind a big trashcan. She pocked her head from behind the trashcan when she saw two zombies attacking the dead that attacked her and the kid attacking the other dead with her bat that she forgot to pick up.

Fuck. She cussed at herself when she felt a memory come forward. She tried not to cry as she was hearing everything that was going on outside of her head.

/Get up! Jumping down from the top as she was sleeping on top of the bunk bed. The oldest was just laying on the bed. Mister Han? Are you not coming? She asked the oldest of the group of ten that are there. I do not feel too good kiddo. He did look paler than usual.

Mister Kang? She asked again as she saw that he closed his eyes. There were more than ten but the experiments that they do on us make us weak. Weak to the point that the guards like to drag us to the dead zone to get eaten. She went to him.

And she told him that she cannot let him be taken to the dead zone. Because she knows that he would never come back just like David never came back. He asked her why.

I cannot lose more people. He helped himself up when she said that. You will not lose me or anyone else. And she believed him, and she lost him in three weeks. /.

Afternoon

She felt tries down going down her eyes when she thought how her children could be in trouble, and she does not want to think the worst.Still, on the floor, they could see the feet of the dead still in the hallway. She saw that nelson was still asleep when the dead came in. The dead had to be female she had not moved since she heard her move to check on nelson that when she saw the dead’s face was in front of the closet door, she was hiding in.

It was morning and she knew she had to get out of here with the younger so that she can be at the house before night happened since that is when they prefer to hunt.

They are like wolves. She thought when she saw this female was looking for humans and she found some and she was thankful that the youngest was asleep when she brought the dead humans into the house and was just eating it while the person was just looking at where she was hiding.

But it also seems that the female was in a way taking care of them from other dead. In a way, they keep the protectiveness that they had as humans. Little did she know that the female dead was not the only one that was there in the house with them.Getting up from the ground she was about to open the door when she heard the front door burst open and saw armed soldiers. The dead turned around and screeched at the soldiers and howled at the roof. Which caused the walls on top of the closet to drop dust on top of her and she looked at the other door and she saw that nelson was about to grab the closet door.

She did not know how she did not see the male dead last night when she came to this house last night. She shook her head and grabbed the walkies talkie and told him in a whisper about the soldiers and was about to tell him about the dead when she and two male dead charged at the soldiers, and she took that to her advantage.

Evening

She busted open her door and went to the other side of the hallway and opened his door. He slept with his backpack on. She knew that this place is going to change him and herself. She bends down and she grabbed him and ran to the back door that the home had. She accidentally tackled a soldier that was going into the house by the backdoor.

When this happened, nelson had fallen from her arms and fell on the ground, and accidentally hurt himself. He had cut his arm and that caused the newly infected soldiers to turn their heads at the humans outside. They were about to be attacked when the female dead and the two male dead attacked the soldiers once again.

How are you still here?! The soldier was pointing his gun at the children he just saw come out of the house that was full of the dead. Now that he thinks about it the kids look familiar but he won’t take the risk of who he is thinking about. His commanding officer had told him that all the people were taken out of the city of Glendora. How are there still people in Glendora?! He asked well screamed at the children. How are the f**k are we in Glendora!? Both solider and female looked at the youngest in shock.

Why did you just say that?! Said the second oldest as she looked at the youngest forgetting about the soldier. What you and her cuss all the time! Why can’t I do it!? She looked at him as she tried not to laugh as she remembered what the oldest had told her, he was going to do. Because we are older, and you are the child, and if she hears you say that she is going to kill me. The younger looked up at the oldest as he asked innocently. But why can’t I say a bad word? He said when he was back in the arms of the second oldest of the group and he held tighter to her. When she turned around and hit the soldier on the head and she put him on the ground when she heard the window break.

She grabbed him once again and ran to the gate that leads to the main road. She closed it as she held the kid tighter and inhaled and exhaled. When she heard the door break as well. Running and remembered what her friend told her before all of it turn to s**t. /I am dying. She said as they were sitting on the edge of her friend’s roof. Which caused her to spit out her drink. /

Looking behind her she saw that the dead were being attacked by the same dead that was in the house. Why are they protecting us? She asked herself as she ran. The child looked as he held onto her tighter. /I am this close to ending it for real this time. She knew what she meant. All she could do was look at her friend. /

Running faster because she knew if she does not make it back the only thing, they had to humanity is going to kill herself. /Vicky you are all I got now. / She was running, and she did not know where she was running to. She looked at the sky and she saw the sky getting darker.

She ran to a corner, and she looked behind her and she saw that the dead were not chasing her. She put him down and walked faster and found a garage and she opened it from the door and they went in.

The older making sure that she was not followed by anyone, or anything closed her door. She went to the bathroom and she closed the door as she leaned on the door. She sighed as she put her head to the wall as she heard. Alex? Grabbing her walkies her hand shook as she looked at the walkies and inhaled and exhaled as she looked at the wall as she calmed herself and said. Vicky? Her voice cracked. We are okay. She sobbed as she was hearing the people that are keeping her alive are alive. The youngers did the same as they hugged each other. Unknown to them something was waiting for them outside.
