Gordon tapped his cane once on the marble floor. The sound cut through the silence. He looked at Kerry first. His eyes were calm, but there was steel behind them. “You’re right, daughter. The Black name must be protected.” Kerry exhaled, satisfied. Then Gordon turned to Damian. His gaze softened for one second before going hard again. “But the Black name wasn’t built by giving up on our own blood the moment they fell.” He paused. “We handed BlackCorp to him at 22. Because we believed he could carry it. He’s made a fortune under his control.” Kerry opened her mouth but Gordon raised one hand. She closed it. Gordon looked back at Damian. “So here’s what’s going to happen. You have three months, Damian. Find your wife. Fix this mess. If you can’t… then yes. We talk about your cousin.”
