Elaina woke up at the sound. She pulled her blanket tighter and mumbled, “Coming.”
Her voice was still thick with sleep.
She pushed the blanket off and walked to the door. When she opened it, her eyes went wide.
“What on earth are you doing here?”
Kaitlyn Anderson stood there smiling, her cute dimples on full display. She wore a pink flowered dress that made her perfect figure stand out. One hand rested on her slender waist.
“What? Am I not allowed to visit my sister-in-law?” Kaitlyn teased.
Elaina didn’t answer. She yanked Kaitlyn into a tight hug.
“I missed you, Kat. Cass told me you were out of the country for your auction.”
Kaitlyn patted her back gently. “I was. But then he told me you were back home. I boarded the next plane and landed this morning.”
