CHAPTER THREE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD We will be talking about the knowledge of the word of God which is the master for success in our spiritual assignment. Knowledge generally is defined as, awareness of a particular fact or situation; a state of being informed or made aware of something. it is an essential tool that makes one to know about something and what one places his/her heart on and believed in. The key principle of God’s kingdom is that you have the full knowledge of who God is before you follow him. Paul said; Christianity is a process in which you grow Paul had to be a follower before he was trained. But for issue of starting ministry, Yes. Romans 10: 2: 2 for I bear them record that they have zeal of God, but not according to knowledge (KJV); Are you also in this category of people? When you have the knowledge of God, every situations cause and solution is revealed to you, whereby making provision for a way out. A life with the knowledge of who God is; becomes a light that shines in the darkest way of life, and the key to a good living. The secret to every success in life and ministry is knowing God.Are you zealous for God? Wait until you get the full picture of who he is. Paul, the one that preached the gospel radically, was trained for 16years before he started ministry. Don’t just receive vision once and start ministry. Wait and know God in different ways before you start. Devout time with him, get to know him and know the different ways he manifests. As reflected in the following verses: (Col 2:6-7) 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (KJV); These verses tell you how you have to study the word so that you will be rooted and build up in Christ, having the knowledge of who he is and his command and principles. (2 Peter 1:3) 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (KJV); (1 John 2:23-24) 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. (KJV); If only you will devote to seek God and long to know more of him in your life, I promise you that if he shows his glory you will feel it. Knowing God is a continuous process, so do your best today. All that the devil does is to close your sense of understanding the truth about God. Your creator is a king and you also are kings, and every king has a kingdom and a territory that he controls and anything that happens there must be by the king’s consent. Ironically, you have been a slave for long because you do not know this. Why can’t you start today? Seek God and ask more of him, Paul said “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection”. If you look deep into this statement you will discover that it doesn’t mean that Paul does not know Christ, but that he wants to know him in a new dimension. He wants a new revelation and vision about Christ because he knows that every hour, every minute, every second Christ has a different way of showing his glory. If you know God, no devil or human will temper with you. Hear about a pastor whose sister was almost r***d by a Muslim boy. Unluckily for the boy, the pastor just finished 21days dry fasting and prayers. When the pastor asked the boy why he tried to do such a thing, the boy abused him instead. The pastor got annoyed in his Spirit and went back to his closet and told God that he could not tolerate the boy. He then prayed, father you choose between me and this infidel; who you love the person must live on earth. That was the short prayer he did. In a week time, the boy was involve in an accident and was burnt to death. You see how even in our generation, people work with God. He knows God, and there is a level at which God will do anything for his sake. What about you? You can also get to know him and he will do anything for you. As testified in the following scripture: (Proverbs 1:22-23) 22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. (KJV); (Proverbs 2:5-7) 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. (KJV); (Prov 2:5-7) 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. (KJV); (2 Peter 1:8-9) 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. (KJV); The last scripture says without God’s knowledge you will forget that your sins are forgiven. This is because you fail to study so that you will know more of him. You spent your time all day working and cannot give God just five minutes during your lifetime to know a bit of him. Why can’t you make the Holy Spirit your friend today? He is ever ready to come in if you invite him. The truth is that many claim to know God but they do not even know a bit of him. This set of people don’t know and will not allow others to know too, they are the ones you will see in Church saying what does this pastor have to say? We all know this for long. It is the Spirit of familiarity that is at work in them as stated in the following scriptures: (Proverbs 15:2) 2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. (KJV); (Proverbs 15:7) 7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. (KJV); (Proverbs 15:14) 14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. (KJV); (Proverbs 23:12-13) 12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. (KJV); (Proverbs 24:4-5) 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. (KJV); The only true knowledge you can get is from God, and it is all encapsulated in the bible which is the manual of life, Jesus overcame the devil by the word. Joshua said;“this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but meditate on it day and night”. If there be anything you need, it is to know more of Christ. Most of the things you pass through in life are because you do not have the knowledge of the word. You suffer pain, hard times, sickness, marital problems, financial problems, decline in business, lack of promotion, etc. because you do not have the knowledge of the word. It is only when you have the knowledge of the word;that you can key into the promises of God to mankind. And after knowing God’s word, do not restrict yourself from knowing other things, let your knowledge be in all areas of life. For example, if they are talking about cars, let it be that you have an idea about cars, about health, have something to say, about the latest happenings in the world, in the stock market, know something, about the government, you should have something to say. Study wide about things of life. This will make you fit among people everywhere and anywhere you find yourself so that you can preach the gospel successfully. You are made to rule and inherit the earth that is the original plan of God as stated in the following scriptures: (Psalms 112:1-6) 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, thatdelighteth greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endurethfor ever. 4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. 5 A good man shewethfavour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. (KJV); All these promises are for you and you can only be a recipient by studying and having the knowledge of God and how to be a partaker of his promises for his children. The sheep know the voice of the shepherd, what about you? Do you know God’s voice? He has been showing you the way out of that problem but you do not know it was him, because you do not have the full knowledge of who he is. My friend, I challenge you today, learn to ask for more of God all the time and your life will be light on the face of the earth.
