He stepped forward instinctively, breath caught in his throat. "Let her go," he growled, pulling out the pistol from under his blazer.
Ed didn't flinch. "Still reckless."
"I said let her go!" Xavier aimed the gun straight at his father, finger trembling on the trigger.
Cody moved slightly behind him, voice low, "X, think..."
But before he could shoot, five guards lunged forward like shadows.
"s**t!" Cody growled, swinging at one of them, but they were outnumbered.
Xavier struggled as they pinned his arms behind him. One forced the gun from his hand. "Get off me!" he shouted, veins bulging on his neck. "You sick bastard!"
Ed walked forward calmly, like a man greeting old friends.
"You disappoint me, son. Bringing weapons into my house? And for what? A girl?"
