Chapter 40 - Not crazy

1177 Words
Declan pulled the boys into what was my old office. Birthday invites still scattered on the ground. I looked away, I didn’t want to be reminded of the time it was James and I. “Ok explain!” Declan said shoving the boys in. Lee looked at James. “He’s disrespectful to my mate!” Lee huffed. “Are you serious right now? I want to know why Redmoon is coming. She’s been here all day running around with Madison and refused to tell me when I asked!” James huffed back at him. “Oh and I’m sure you asked her so politely that she grew so terrified of your politeness? Huh? Is that what happened? You’re ridiculous brother!” Lee took a few steps toward James but Declan stepped between. “They want me ok? The Moon Goddess appeared in my dreams and told me I was the daughter of a 400 year old witch who loved Henry and Fredrick. They grew with jealous and she burned down the pack house! Apparently she was super powerful and the Moon Goddess said my powers will fully awake and they would sense it and come for me! There. That’s everything. Happy?” I still had my hand covering the bruise. James, Lee and Declan just looked at me like I was insane. The quiet in the room was deafening. I turned and ran out of the room. I went up the stairs into my old room and locked the door. I waited for a moment taking a few steps back. I didn’t hear anyone approaching. They thought I was insane. Everyone was going to think I was insane. I heard a slight knock and the door knob jiggle. “Hannah?” I heard Lee’s voice. I didn’t respond. “We just have a few more questions. Will you come out?” I didn’t want to answer questions. “I’m not crazy Lee!” I yelled back. “No one said you were crazy. Come on it’s ok.” I didn’t budge and then I heard arguing again. James was growing in frustration that I wouldn’t come out. Then I heard a bang on the door like someone was trying to break it down. “Are you guys serious!?” I yelled back and the door burst open. James grabbed my hand and yanked me forward. Declan and Lee were yelling at him. I fell onto the hard tile outside of the room. I was in a state of complete shock. I couldn’t hear anyones voice clearly and I wanted calm so bad. I watched as Lee and James started pushing each other. “STOOOPPPP!” I yelled out as James c****d his fist. I lifted my hand as waves of a white glow came out and they all calmed and looked at me. This had happened once before with my father when Lee was caught in my bed, only this time I was aware what was happening. My breathing was heavy as I lifted myself up to a sitting position feeling completely drained. “What just happened?” Declan looked around. “Hannah?” Lee looked at me. “I told you this is going to be a problem.” James looked to Lee again. “Oh and if you had marked her it would be less of a problem for you, it’s only a problem now because she’s my mate.” Lee said. “Hannah and I would’ve figured it out if she was my mate. I can’t help if you took her from me!” Everyone got quiet. James realized what he said and pushed past Lee walking down to his room. Lee lifted me and Declan helped him get me to his room. He laid me down and started looking at my arms. My bruises had started to heal already but I could only feel Lee’s rage at the sight of them. My eyes were heavy and I could hear them as I drifted in and out. “Look what he’s done to her!” Lee yelled to Declan. “I know, I was there man.” Declan put his hand on Lee’s shoulder. “We have to get the full story tomorrow. Talk to her when she’s up, I’ll talk to Madison and see if she knows anything.” Lee nodded. I closed my eyes and drifted off. I woke up and it was pitch black. I looked around and heard soft snores by me. Lee was fast asleep. I touched his face and he stirred. I kissed his cheek and he opened his eyes. “Hannah?” He softy spoke as I cuddled up to him. He sat up and flipped on the lamp on his night stand. “Are you ok?” He looked concerned. “I’m ok. I just am so sorry I haven’t told you from the beginning. I didn’t want to sound crazy. I mean it sounds crazy to me when I say it out loud. You were so overwhelmed when I told you about the Moon Goddess.” I couldn’t stop it, I started crying. Lee grabbed me and pulled me in hugging me tight. “Hannah you don’t have to explain anything now. It can wait until morning.” Lee was trying so hard to comfort me. “No, if I don’t tell you everything now, James…” A panic grew in me. I looked at my arm and my bruises had healed. “Hey look at me.” Lee said and I looked up into his eyes. He held my chin so our faces were close. “I will never let him touch you ever again. I promise you.” I kissed him and then wiped my eyes. “I’ll tell you everything.” I took a deep breath and started from the beginning. How I had dreams and what they were about. The closer I got to my eighteenth birthday the dreams became more intense. My visit with the Goddess and finding out the woman who burned down the pack house was my mother. How as a baby I was sentenced to death for fear from Redmoon that I too could lose control one day. By the time I was done talking the sun had started to come up. Lee didn’t interrupt and let me talk. When I was done he grabbed my hand. “I wish you would’ve told me sooner.” He said looking at me. “I shouldn’t have kept it from you. I was worried you would think I was crazy and leave.” I started to feel tears coming back up. “Nothing would’ve kept me from wanting to be with you.” Lee pulled me in laying down, still tired. “Now what do we tell James?” I asked him. “We’ll figure it out.” He said closing his eyes. “I need sleep.” I melted into his embrace, I was also still very tired and felt so much better getting everything off my chest.
