Seeking The Past

Chapter 35 - A New beginning.

Luna Eve marched over, she threw James’s hand off me. I looked at her, there was no fear behind my eyes.

“You lying wench! We had a deal! You agreed to be marked by my son!” She was more angry then anyone had ever seen her.

“I am marked by your son.” Her eyes grew wide as Lee came over and took my hand.

“You ungrateful brat! You did this on purpose so your father couldn’t retire! You know how sick he’s been! He can’t take the stress anymore Lee! James won’t be strong enough to take over with out a mate!” She clenched her fists and her face was red.

“Now now. It’s ok.” James placed his hand on his mothers shoulder. “Hannah I owe you a apology. Now that my emotions have cleared I can see the error in my ways last night.” His expression still seem hard. “I’m sorry for everything. I messed what we had up. We had a bond but I still couldn’t see past a unrequited love. I ruined my chance.” He paused and looked at his mother. He gave a uneasy expression. “I would rather not say anymore. Maybe in private sometime.” He turn to Lee and held out his hand. Lee reluctantly took his hand and they shook. “Looks like you best me this time.” He said with a slight laugh. He turn to his mother who still had a angry look. “Now mother, let’s move on and move forward.” He took her by the arm and lead her back inside. There was something uneasy about the whole thing. Madison turned to walk back to the car.

“Madison?” I asked after her.

“It’s ok Hannah, I just really have to leave. I just want to see Declan. You guys will either stay or take Lee’s car.” She went and got into her car and drove away. We went inside and packed my things. Lee packed some things as well. As we put things in the car we were approached by Alpha Jean.

“Son!” Lee turned and Alpha Jean hugged him. “Congratulations my son. I’m sorry I had to lie to your mother about coming back early. I told her I fell asleep on the ride. I didn’t tell her we sped all the way home and then you jumped out of the car like a maniac!” He bellowed out in a loud laugh.

“I’m sorry dad.” He said.

“Don’t be sorry. I was mad at first but after you told me how you felt, I couldn’t stand in your way any longer. Your mother forgets we were young once as well.” Alpha Jean turn to me. “Take care of my son young lady! I have no doubt you will, no one has ever beat my wife out of a verbal contract so cunningly.” He smiled warmly. He looked back at Lee. “You know you don’t have to leave. You both can stay here.” Lee looked down and then he looked at me.

“I just want to be where ever Hannah is now.” I smiled at his words.

“Of course!” Alpha Jean smiled at me. “If you change your mind. You’re always welcome. Both of you.” He reached out and handed Lee his cell phone. “Your mother will get over this.” Lee took the cell phone and nodded. He put the phone in his pocket.

“Thank you for being understanding.” I was nervous to say anything. I felt like I had betrayed everyone at the pack house, all the elite.

“Of course little one. I hope we get to know each other more.” He turned to walk away. “I must take my leave before I am noticed out here by your mother, she’s felt ill all day.” He walked off. Lee turned on his phone and looked at it.

“Wow you sent a lot of messages.” He said flipping through it. I playfully smacked him and got into the car. He got in as well and we sat there a moment.

“Do you want to run away for a day or two?” Lee looked at me.

“YES!” I blurted out and he laughed.

“Ok, let’s go somewhere special. Just us. We won’t tell anyone until we get there.” He smiled at me.

“I hope it’s because we don’t know where we are heading!” I said chuckling enthusiastically. Lee started the car and we started to drive away. I looked back at the pack house and I saw James in the window of my old room looking up to the sky. He looked down and saw us leaving. For a moment, I thought he looked sad. I pulled out my phone and opened up my messages to James. So many I miss yous and so many I love yous. I felt bad but I slide the icon and deleted them all. I started a new message.

“James, I’m sorry things ended the way they had. I never meant to hurt you.” I sent the message. A moment later I saw it was read and I put my phone down. A loud ding so soon surprised me and I scrambled to open my phone.

“You don’t know how sorry I am.” I felt a hard ping of sadness. Tears started to pool in my eyes but I didn’t feel sad. I was heading off with the love of my life.

“I hope we will stay friends.” I replied and I my tears started falling continuously, I felt like I was feeling James sadness. Now that I was marked, I knew that wasn’t possible.

“Hannah what’s wrong?” Lee reached over and grabbed my hand.

“Nothing, I’m just so happy I get to be with you.” We drove off.
