Chapter 34 - Marked

Lee sat there wide eyed.

“NOW LEE!” I yelled at him.

“Hannah are you sure? What did my mom say?” Lee was confused. I knelt down and moved my head over.

“Mark me now.” I said softly. Lee looked a little troubled. “I want to be with you forever, I want to be by your side, I want to travel where ever you want to go. I only want to be with you, I’ve always wanted to be with you.” I closed my eyes. I knew there would be pain and I was waiting with anticipation. There was a long uncomfortable silence and I felt Lee put his hands on my arms. “Please.” I was about to beg for it to be over.

Then I felt it. I yelled out in searing pain as Lee bore his teeth into me. My heart exploded and my body filled with desire. Desire for only Lee. He let go and slowly licked my wounds as they healed over leaving a fresh scarred over mark. I took a few deep breaths and I looked up at him. My only true mate. I no longer felt remorse for what I had done to James and I knew James would be set free as well. Lee smiled at me.

“Now you probably feel what I’ve felt the entire time I’ve been around you. Every time I’ve looked in your eyes. I’ve loved you since the moment you walked into the diner. I should’ve never taken a step back. I should’ve always fought to be with you.” Tears of happiness ran down his cheeks. I kissed his lips and my body erupted with warmth and love.

“Thank you. Thank you for showing me what was real.” He picked me up and laid me next to him on the bed. He cuddled me and we both dozed off together. Finally my dilemma was over.

I woke up in the arms of Lee. I didn’t move. I didn’t want this moment to ever end. I rolled and looked at him. He slowly opened his eye and when he saw me, he smiled and squeezed me tight.

“Thank god, I was worried this was just a dream.” Lee said with a light groggy smile.

“It’s not a dream.” I ran my fingers through his hair. We just gazed at each other, neither of us wanted to move. “We have to go to the pack house. I have to get my things.” I sat up but Lee didn’t move.

“I’m not sure if that’s a good idea… my mom-“ I cut him off and waved my hand.

“I made a deal with your mother. I told her if I let her son mark me, we would be ok. My family would be ok. That they wouldn’t be able to take it out on any of us and they would accept us as family… I just never told her which son, she also never specified either.” I laughed and he laughed. Neither of us cared at this point. I got up and put on a halter top with some cute shorts and sandals. I wanted to show off my mark. Lee watched me and just smiled at how giddy I was turning and looking at my mark from different angles.

“I’m glad you’re happy Hannah.” He said sweetly. I turn to him.

“I don’t think I could be more happy.” I ran over and tackled him showering him with kisses. He laughed picking me up and setting me down.

“I’m going to see if anything of your dads will fit me at all.” He started to walk out and I followed closely behind, wanting to be on his every step. We got to the bottom of the stairs. I heard gasps and a dish break and we looked over. My mom and Madison were sitting at the table. Their mouths completely open. Madison shot up from her chair.

“You’re… you’re marked!” Madison struggled to get the words out. I looked up at Lee and smiled who looked back with so much love.

“I am.” I said softly, My mom stood and walked in the kitchen completely quite.

“Hannah what about James? I thought… I mean I heard something happened but no one would say what. Luna Eve said you would be back to be marked today.” Madison was riddled with confusion. I shook my head.

“I will be back, to get my things.” I said to her.

“Thank you Madison, because of you I am now the happiest person in the entire world.” Lee said looking to her. Madison sat down and burst into tears. I walked over and hugged her.

“Part of me hoped Lee would make it for you, but another part just wanted James to be happy. He’s been so unhappy for so long.” Madison cried and I continued to hold her.

“I can’t help he still loves you or longs for you Madison. I don’t think he wanted me for the love but for the good of the pack. I don’t think I will ever know for sure. I caused him so much pain myself, but I don’t feel bad. One day I will tell you the full story, now isn’t the time.” She looked at me confused.

“Still love?” She shook her head no. “That just can’t be true, I’m with Declan. He has had awhile to get over this.” She signed a heavy sigh. “It doesn’t matter anymore.” She stood up again. “I just hope he’s not crushed.” She looked down at the floor.

“He is free of the mate bond and able to find his true mate.” I told her and she nodded.

“Get ready, I will take you guys to get your stuff.” She looked at me still teary eyed, I nodded. “You should cover your mark. Luna Eve will have a fit.” Madison continued. My mom re-emerged. Her eyes were puffy with tears as well and she was trying to sweep up the cup.

“Mom are you ok?” She swept at the cup and sighed.

“I’m fine, it was just so overwhelming seeing you marked. I’m so happy for you both.” I walked over and hugged her also. “Now come on Lee, let’s see if John has anything to fit you.” She smiled and grabbed Lee’s arm leading him into the other room.

Lee had to wear something slightly baggy, he also agreed I should cover the mark just in case James hadn’t told them. Madison drove us up there. She tried really hard to be cheerful like she normally was but it seemed hard for her. We pulled up to the pack house. I watched the big front doors nervously. We all got out and as we approached the doors, Luna Eve emerged.

“There you are dear!” She said with her fake smile. She stopped when she saw Lee. “Oh you’ve found my other son.” She look at at him with a cold expression. It looked like James’s cold expressions. “Good Morning Lee.”

“Hello mother, we’re just here for her things.” Lee started to walk past her.

“Who’s things? She’s not going anywhere. She’s to start her Luna training right away. After you see James of course my dear. Remember our deal?” She smiled at me closing her eyes and baring her teeth. She was showing me who was in charge.

“There will be no need.” I heard come from behind her. Everyone turned to see James appear, His expression was just as pointed. He walked up to me looking down. I just stared at him back. There was nothing there anymore, I knew he felt nothing towards me as well. He reached up and grabbed my coverlet. His mother smiled thinking I was about to be marked right then. He pulled it down slowly to reveal I had already been marked.
