1219 Words
We pulled up midday to the pack house. James came out and greeted Lee. He nodded to me and I nodded back. “Hannah, I’m sorry to cut your excursion short. Redmoon is on their way and they want to speak with you.” I nodded again. “Why?” He asked me, his glare pierced through me. “Hannah!” Madison screamed and running to jump into my embrace. “Come on! Tell me everything!” She saved me from James’s inquiries. “Hannah!” James yelled after. Madison stopped and shot him a look. “You will tell me later then?” He said nicely and I nodded. He turned to Lee and I could see them talking. Madison pulled me inside and into the dinning hall. “Ok spill it!” Madison said. “I didn’t want to come back. The beach is so beautiful.” I said with a sad look. “Aww I’m sorry girl! Now what’s going on. I know you’re hiding something.” Madison placed her hands on her hips. I looked down because I didn’t want to say anything. “Your dreams?” She asked and I nodded. She pulled out her phone. “I’m texting Lee and telling him to get your guys stuff to your room or his room and we…” she paused clicking at her phone. “Will head to my house.” I told Madison about my dream with the Moon goddess and all the visions being pieced together. “So wait, your like the daughter from like 400 years ago!? That sounds insane! Did you tell Lee?” “I couldn’t tell him all that! You should’ve seen him when I told him the Moon Goddess appeared in my dream! He looked at me like I was crazy!” I let out a heavy sigh. “I’m going to have to tell him everything aren’t I?” Dread came over me. I didn’t want to tell him anything. I just wanted to be normal and this made me sound insane. “I think you’ll have to tell them both.” Madison replied. “Both?” I was confused what she meant but then it clicked. “Oh, James.” I shook my head. “You are going to have to talk to him at some point, he’s practically your brother in law now.” Madison just started laughing and then she laughed even harder. It started to make me angry like it was a joke I wasn’t a part of. “Come on! Don’t look like that!” She pushed my shoulder playfully. “I think I’m going to go find Lee. I need to tell him everything before Redmoon arrives.” Madison stood up when I did. “Oh Hannah, I was joking around!” Madison seemed upset. “No no it’s ok, I just… I just need to get it all off my chest.” I couldn’t keep hiding the dreams or who I was. I didn’t know what Redmoon would say when they arrived. “Ok text me later Hannah. If I don’t see you at dinner then I’ll see you at breakfast.” She hugged me and I hugged her back before I left for the pack house. I walked out the door and saw Declan and James standing at the end of Madison’s drive. I felt my heart fall to my stomach. Her house was very close to the pack house. Declan saw me and waved. I walked up and Declan put his hand on my shoulder. “Heyyyyy Hannah! Heard you’re a marked girl now.” He said with a half smile. I looked at James, he looked p*ssed Declan even mentioned it. “Y-yes. I have been marked.” I stuttered and smiled at him, but could feel James burning holes in me with his eyes. “Well guys, my lady is waiting!” He walked past us and turned when he got to the door. “Congratulations Hannah!” He yelled back and walked in. I turn to James and we looked at each other for a moment. I turn to start walking and he followed. “Are you going to tell me?” He asked. “What?” I said pretending I didn’t know. “Hannah.” His voice was stern and I stopped. “I wanted to talk to Lee first.” I said to him and he scowled. “So now Lee is the alpha of this pack?” His anger was growing. “And you are? Last I checked you father-“ James reached out and grabbed me, pain started to sear through my upper arm. “Stop it! You’re hurting me James!” I tried to yank free and when he didn’t let go I started to panic. “This isn’t funny!” “Do I look like a person who’s trying to be hilarious right now? Tell me NOW!” He let go of his tight grip and I yanked my arm away. My body grew with anger and I started to take deep breaths feeling like I was burning up. It felt like when I was on the edge of the water and I knew I couldn’t let that happen here and now. I finally started to calm and I looked at James who now had his arms crossed. “I don’t want to talk about this right now. Out in the open.” I ushered with my hand and then I looked over. Suddenly I saw Lee come running up. “HANNAH!” He ran to me and jumped in front of me. “What the F*CK are you doing!? I could feel her terrified from inside the pack house.” I grabbed onto the back of Lee’s shirt. I instantly felt myself relaxing with him present. I forgot the perks of our mate bond made it so we could still feel each other’s emotions, Thank the Goddess. “She owes us a explanation Lee! Why is Redmoon coming!?” They puffed out their chests and growled at each other. “Maybe she doesn’t want to talk about it on a shady street corner?! You ever think about that?” Lee said glaring. “As a fellow Alpha of this pack, you should care more. The tales of the past said Redmoon burned down our pack and we had to rebuild. Now I have people going over battle plans incase they are coming to fight, but I can’t get a explanation from HER!” He pointed at me and glared. I sunk behind Lee. “Don’t talk to her like that EVER again!” Lee’s alpha tone made my knees weak but had no effect on James. I didn’t notice when Declan emerged but he was pushing between the brothers. “Break it up before the whole neighborhood comes out here! You guys need to take this to the pack house!” Declan grabbed both of them and started dragging them back to the pack house. I looked over and Madison stood in the doorway looking terrified. I looked at my arm and saw a dark bruise appearing where James had grabbed me. I covered it with my hand and took off toward the pack house following behind them.
