Chapter 42 - Jason who?

I hugged Lee really tight.

“What happened? Why were you scared?” Lee pulled away from our hug and I looked at him.

“I saw James, just the sight of him alone scared me.” He studied my face.

“Babe just don’t go anywhere with out me ok?” Lee kissed me and I nodded. “Come on let’s go eat.” Lee took my hand and we went to the dining hall. When we got there, Lee wouldn’t let go of my hand. He helped me pick food and we sat down. People came up to congratulate Lee and talk with him. It was awkward, especially it being the same people who congratulated James. I wouldn’t look at anyone for fear they would ask me about James and I would have to talk about it.

“Hannah?” I looked up and saw Declan.

“Hi Dec.” he sat down

“Hey Madison told me everything. She didn’t want to come over in case you would be mad.” I smiled at him.

“I’m not mad, I’m glad that’s one less person I have to explain it to.”

“Oh good! She will be happy to hear that. She saw you guys and left, decided to run errands early. She will be back for dinner. Have you talked to James?” My eyes widen and I shook my head fast.

“She’s terrified of even looking at him.” Lee interjected.

“I’m sorry Hannah. I’ve seen him like this before when me and Madison found our mate bond. He went erratic there for awhile. Lee remembers I’m sure.” I looked at Lee.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I said to him.

“What’s there to tell. He was crazy for a bit but I mean he really really loved her. He loved her since we were kids.” Lee shrugged.

“Man everyone loved her since we were kids, he was the Alpha’s son so no one could have been with her but him. When they didn’t mate bond on her eighteenth birthday, that should’ve been the clue.” Declan said seemingly complaining about the situation between then.

“Hey it was really hard on him. You know what sucks being his identical twin? Being able to feel some of his emotions. When ever he was super sad, I felt it.” Lee had never mentioned he could feel James emotions sometimes. I had heard that from Madison before but never Lee.

“Yeah I remember Madison telling me something about that.” Declan told him.

“Hey I’m sorry man. If I had felt the way I do for Hannah, I would’ve never showed up that night and begged her to reject you. I’m glad you guys are happy.” Declan extended his hand and they shook.

“No hard feelings. It feels like it was ages ago. Anyways,” Declan pulled out his phone. “James is requesting all of us in his office.” Lee got up still holding my hand. I reluctantly followed suit and Lee followed Declan down the hall and into the room where James had just forcefully kissed me. James hadn’t looked up as we all entered. He flipped papers and organized them into piles.

“Alright we are present.” Declan announced. I hid myself behind them.

“Good, is Hannah ready to tell us what’s going on?” I peaked at him and he looked at me.

“There’s no need, I can fill you in.” Declan told him.

“Oh good so she’s told everyone but her Alpha of the pack.” He said this in a snarky way.

“That’s funny, I don’t see dad here.” Lee said to him.

“And you won’t, he’s in a care facility at one of our larger ally packs. We’ve told everyone him and mother are on a trip. While they’re away, I was put in charge.” I remembered meeting him and how warm he was towards me. It reminded me of Lee.

“Is he going to be ok?” I piped up and everyone looked at me.

“He’ll be fine Hannah, don’t worry about it. You need to worry about the Redmoon arrival. They should be here tomorrow.” James said in a soft tone, he must be feeling bad.

“Ok so while Declan fills you in, I’m going to take Hannah home to see her family.” Lee surprised me. I didn’t think I was going to be able to leave the pack house.

“Fine, but take Jason with you, he’s on guard duty.” James picked up a couple papers and handed them to Declan. Lee pulled my hand and we walked out.

“Who’s Jason?” I asked as we walked out the door.

“You know Jason! He was at the diner.” Lee pulled out his phone and was trying hard to text one handed. “Ok he’ll be at the front in 15 he said.” Lee pulled me to the front doors and we stood by the stairs. “You don’t remember the day we went jogging? He was with us. The diner?” I started to think and then it clicked.

“Oh the Omegas son!” Lee pointed at me.

“Bingo!” I don’t think I had even thought about anyone but my dilemma with James and Lee since their birthday. I couldn’t remember half the people I met that night. I briefly remember him talking to us during the small party Luna Eve threw when I went to the pack house. It didn’t take long for Jason to come running up, I forgot how fast he was.

“Sorry, I was across town bro! I was talking to the other guards. I’m learnin the ropes before we head off to college.” I looked at Lee. “Hannah bruh! Heard you screwed over James. Bro that’s some rough stuff. Can’t imagine being the talk of the town!” He made a cringe face and I glared.

“She didn’t screw over James! Who said that?” Lee was defensive.

“Bro everyone is saying that. I mean besides Dec and Mad. Actually James won’t even talk about it.” Jason looked at us both both picking up on how awkward he had made our entire encounter.

“I didn’t screw him over. I felt the mate bond with both of them. I was more in love with Lee and I chose him. That’s all you need to now.” Lee gripped my hand and pulled me over to the car.

“My bad bros!” He followed us to the car.

We arrived at my home and my mom came running out to greet us.

“Why didn’t you call at all!? Madison came over and I assumed you were at the pack house but you had disappeared.” Mom was concerned but I laughed.

“We just went on a adventure.” I told her, I was so happy to see her. Angelica came out.

“Hannah!” She hugged me excitedly. “And you brought our new brother!” She hugged Lee and I lightly punched her arm. Suddenly something in the air was different. Angelica looked over. Jason stood by the car completely speechless.

“Mate?” He said.

“What! No!” I said as I looked at Lee and Angelica ran to him. She jumped in his arms.

“He’s eighteen Hannah. She can feel the mate bond too.” We watched as the hugged.

“She’s not 17 for like a week!” I wasn’t taking this well.

“Hannah, as I repeat, HE is eighteen. Usually the mate bond is created once one is eighteen.” I sighed and went inside. We had to spend most the visit watching them cuddle up to each other. Jason started calling me sis and Angelica was eating all of it up. I loved getting to spend time with my brothers and sisters but it didn’t stop me from complaining that Jason coming had ruined my visit with my sister. When it was time to go Jason reluctantly left with us. He held Angelica’s hands.

“I’ll be back first thing in the morning.” He told her. She looked at him with sad eyes.

“I’ll be waiting for you!” He leaned down and kissed her. I growled loud and everyone turned to me.

“Hannah what’s wrong?” Angelica asked.

“I’m sorry Angelica. I’m just trying to process this. I let my emotions kinda take the wheel for a moment. Your still my little sister.” Jason looked back at Angelica.

“You’re my little Angel.” I got in the car before I barfed. Lee got in and burst out laughing.

“You should’ve seen your face when he kissed her!” He was absolutely losing it. Jason got in the car.

“Just another thing we can thank James for!” I said sarcastically.

“I can’t wait to thank James. Hannah, Angelica is a absolute dream.” He watched her as we drove away.
