Chapter 33 - What Happened?

Lee carried me as I cried into him. He didn’t say a word. He walked me back home and set me down. We walked in the front door and my mom jumped off the couch.

“Hannah!? What happened? I thought today was the big day? Lee?” She looked at him and he ran his hand through his saggy hair.

“I don’t know much. I just got back in today.” He looked at her and then to me.

“We can’t go back.” I said to them I started sobbing again.

“Hey, if you want to go back, you can go back. We can fix everything.” My mom hugged me and Lee crossed his arms. Lee didn’t say a word in front of my mom. Not how James tried to mark me against my will, how he had to push him off of me, or how I clung to him desperately. “Why don’t you go up and get cleaned up.” My mom said and I grabbed Lee’s hand pulling him with me. I didn’t want to be with out him. Of course he didn’t resist. We went into my room and he asked if I wanted him to run me and bath. I didn’t say anything. I felt broken. He walked over and grabbed me some clothes.

“Come on, sit up.” I slowly sat up and he put a large t-shirt on me.

“Thank you.” I said weakly. He lifted his hand and touched my cheek. I laid my head into his hand tears softly falling.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t get back sooner. When I found out tonight was the night. I jumped out of the car and ran all the way home. I couldn’t leave things how they were. My parents found out graduation that I also had feelings for you. They read our messages and found you had feelings for me also. My dad caught me texting you. He wanted to crush my phone.” I looked into his eyes. They were soft with remorse. “They decided what was best for our pack was to trot me about to unwed alpha she-wolves. I didn’t feel any connection when I met any of them. Not like being around you, I knew I wouldn’t feel anything for anyone but you. My mom was convinced you belong with James. They hid they knew we also had a connection, for the greater of the pack they said.” He shook his head. “James is the next alpha, the sooner he unlocks his full potential, the sooner my dad can retire.” I just listen to his story.

“I’m sorry you went through a lot. I can’t deny I missed you.” I looked down. My heart was it pain.

“What happen tonight? He couldn’t have been like that that long before I got there.” Lee lifted my chin.

“He called me Madison.” Lee looked confused “I realized the heart ache I felt was for Madison. Every time James thought of her or missed her. Anytime she was close. It wasn’t until I came to the pack house that I stopped feeling that heart ache. I thought I was feeling your sadness and since you were gone, I couldn’t feel it anymore.” I looked into his eyes. “Part of him still loves her. I got so mad… I just really wanted to hurt him.” I bit my lip and closed my eyes tight.

“It’s ok if you can’t go on.” He told me.

“No, I want to tell you.” I took a deep breath. “I told him you were a better lover. I told him that you were my first. His heart shattered and I felt every bit of it. I crushed him.” I burst into tears and Lee hugged me. He held me so tight. “We can never go back Lee. I can never look at him again. I crushed his soul. I’m a terrible person. How could I do that.” He squeezed me tightly to him.

“Hannah if you want to go back to him, we can find a way to go back.” Lee said softly. I suddenly got scared thinking of the anger James had.

“No! No please. Just stay please.” I pleaded with him.

“I won’t go anywhere with out you ever again. I promise.” Lee pulled away and kissed my forehead. We heard a soft knock on the door. My mom opened up and handed Lee some pajamas and he thanked her.

“I should tell you, Luna Eve is on her way here. She wants to talk to Hannah.” My mom stood there and I nodded.

“Do you want me to tell her to leave?” Lee asked. I shook my head no. I mustered my strength and got up. I walked over and put on shorts. Before I walked down stairs I turned to Lee.

“Wait here for me?” I asked him. He nodded knowing his presence alone could upset his mother more. I took my moms arm and we walked outside. A car pulled up and both Luna Eve and Alpha Jean got out of the car. She approached me.

“I would like a explanation.” Luna Eve stood there and I gulped.

“Your son called me another woman’s name. When I got upset, he attacked me. I didn’t want to be marked on bad terms. He tried to force me to be marked for the good of the pack.” Alpha and Luna looked at each other.

“And?” She said.

“And what?” I said confused. She scoffed reaching up and ripping my shirt. “Excuse me!?” I yelled.

“Hey! What do you think you’re doing to my daughter!?” My mom approached.

“You’re still unmarked. My son limped himself home. He’s locked in his room and has refused to talk to anyone. You agreed to be marked by my son!” She was yelling at me. Some of our neighbors looked out to enjoy the show.

“You didn’t listen to anything I said. Your son attacked me after betraying my trust because he has feelings for someone else!” I yelled back.

“Oh please, she’s been marked by someone else! He has a mate bond with you and I demand you let my son mark you!” She looked p*ssed. She clearly didn’t care about the feelings of anyone. Alpha Jean stood there as if he was there to just morally support her.

“Fine, I’ll let your son mark me. Once it’s done, you can’t take anything out on me or us ever. You can’t take anything out on my family. You will treat us as family from then on!” Luna Eve smiled and extended her hand.

“It’s a binding contract my dear, you will let my son mark you.” I shook her hand. I turned and walked off. I marched upstairs, pushed open my door, walked up to Lee, and ripped off my already ripped shirt. Lee looked at me wide eyed.

“Mark me! Do it now!” I demanded.
