Chapter 20 - Alpha twins apology

The next morning I woke up and Madison wasn’t in the room. I could hear her bubbly laugh down stairs. I walked down and saw her playing with the twins. She was playing peek a boo and laughing herself a storm. My mother was making breakfast and my dad sat at the table reading the paper. I felt regret over what I had put everyone through. The last month had been so full of ups and downs. Madison spotted me and smiled wide. I smiled back and approached her.

“Leo and Christopher are just the cutest!” She continued to smile and coo at them. They were giggling up a storm. I walked over to my mother and kissed her cheek.

“Good morning, I love you.” I said as I walked to the fridge grabbing out some fruit to cut up.

“Good morning Darling! I set a appointment for after school at Doctor Fairview’s office.”

“Thank you.” I continued to chop. Madison left before breakfast to run home and change. She promised to come back and get me. After a normal chaotic family breakfast I went up and got changed. I picked up my phone and saw a message.

“I’ll pick you up this morning. It’s been too long apart and we have to talk.” It was from James. I put my phone in my pocket and I grabbed my bag. I got down stairs and kissed my father good bye as he grumbled. He was always cranky in the morning. I walked outside to the sight of James and Madison arguing.

“What’s going on?” I stopped half way down the path to the sidewalk.

“I told him DO NOT DISTURB!” Madison pointed at him seething.

“That was yesterday! I want to talk to her!” James crossed his arms. I walked up and placed a hand on him.

“It’s ok Madison, I’ll see you after school. We can go to my doctors appointment and then graduation shopping.” Madison flipped her hands up.

“You win! I’ll see you after school Hannah.” She hugged me, jumped in her car and off she went. James held my hand.

“I want to say I’m sorry, but I’m not sure if I know what I would be apologizing for.” James searched for his words. “I feel bad the way our night ended. You were so amazing and I feel like I said or did something to f*ck it up.” James squeezed my hand.

“It’s ok. I’m not sure what happened. I was just hurting that day in my chest. Sometimes I feel like I’m heart broken and I’m not sure why because I’m happy when I’m with you.” James smiled and kissed me. He held my door open and I got in. I checked the back seat to find to my surprise no Lee in the back.

“Lee rode with Declan this morning if that’s who you’re looking for.” James started the car.

“I’m surprised, he’s usually here too.” I turned forward and we headed off to school.

The day was normal and I hung out with everyone. I started to feel like my normal self. Declan and Madison kept making jokes to make me laugh. James was very attentive as well. Lee seemed like he was the only one not acting like himself. He did sit on the other side of me and at one point, I thought I felt him rub my leg. Before my last class for the day, I looked through the books in my locker. I stood up and felt someone grab my arm and pull me away. I looked over to see Lee to my surprise leading me down the hall and into the woman’s bathroom.

“Lee what the hell are you doing!?” I scolded him.

“I know we can’t be seen talking much. Everyone knows your the alpha’s mate.” Lee sighed. “I wanted to also apologize for the way I acted in your room. I’m jealous.” I grabbed his hand giving him a reassuring look. “I know you said before that you don’t belong to either of us. I want so desperately to make you mine. It’s getting hard to resist. I have to lie everyday to my brother. Encourage him to go after you when I want you to myself.” He stepped forward and I took a step back. “Hannah I hope you decide soon. If we have to run away, I will go anywhere with you. We can go anywhere and everywhere.” He knew what I wanted. He knew this was what I wanted to hear. He grabbed my hands and pulled me into a hug. “We can be together forever. We can be so happy just us.” I hugged him back. I pulled away and looked at him. All I could see was him and we were stuck in a trance. Just then we heard the door open and we jumped out of each other’s arms. It was a small freshman who looked shocked at the sight of us.

“Uh thank you for helping me get the eye lash out of my eye Lee! The lighting in here was better like you said!” I grabbed my book and pushed past the tiny freshman pup. Lee yelled back to me,

“No problem!” And hurried to class.

After school I rode with Madison to the doctor’s office.

“I can’t believe him sometimes.” Madison said.

“What?” I inquired, there had to be more to the story.

“Nothing, he’s just always been jealous of James. Once we started dating, I was the only thing James had that Lee didn’t want, Not that I’m complaining. It just makes sense now that he wants you when you’re fated to be Luna.” Ugh Luna there it was again. I absolutely hated being called Luna. We met my mom in the parking lot.

“Are you sure you want to come in?” I asked Madison knowing this was going to be a intrusive appointment.

“Only if you don’t want me to come, I will wait out here.” She said looking at me with sad puppy eyes.

“You can come.” We all three walked into the facility.
