Chapter 16 - Mother’s truth

I woke up to horrified gasps of my mother.

“HANNAH WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?” I sat up clinging the blanket to me and Lee did the same. Running his fingers through his shaggy hair. My moms mouth dropped when she saw it was a Alpha twin.

“I’m sorry ma’am.” Lee said looking at me.

“Way too go sis!” I saw Angelica peek over and I covered my face. I was so embarrassed we were caught like this. Usually my mom never came up unless it was important. Lee grabbed his pants desperately trying to keep himself covered

“Can he have some privacy?” I asked my mom politely. She glared at me and closed the door. “I’m so sorry. Oh my goddess I can’t believe this.” I was mortified. My mom was not going to buy that we just laid naked in my bed for no reason. Lee leaned over and kissed me.

“The window it is!” Lee smiled at me before leaving the way he had come in. I started to hear yelling down stairs and a loud growl.

“Sooner rather then later, that’s my dad.” Lee nodded and left. I wrapped my sheet around me and watched him run up the street. My door hurled open almost knocking it off the hinges. My dad looked crazied and was mid transformation to his wolf. He was trying hard to control himself my mom was trying to talk him down and I held up my hand wanting to just calm everyone down. A feeling of relief washed over me and my dad transformed back. My mom stopped talking and stood still for a moment.

“Woah…” I said my hand tingling.

“It’s time for a serious talk young lady.” My dad said walking down the stairs. My mother went quickly after him. I quickly showered and dressed in school clothes. I packed my school bag and went down stairs. My parents were ushering the other kids out and off to school. My mom held up her hand to stop me.

“Not so fast, talk first.” She motioned to the couch. My dad kissed her and grabbed his lunch bag.

“I know you have this handled. I love you.” He turned and walked out of the house. Once the door was fully shut she walked over and sat down.

“I knew something was going on.” She sighed.

“It’s not that big of a deal. I’m almost 18.” I tried to sound high and mighty.

“Hannah your a unmarked she wolf.” She crossed her arms.

“We were careful.” I said dishonesty knowing he didn’t use protection and the pull out method was not very effective.

“I knew after the birthday party this would happen.” The look of disappointment hurt my heart. “Tell me what happened that day.” My mom tried to give me a reassuring look.

“I felt the mate bond. I felt it for James.” I didn’t look back at her.

“So you realize that was not James but Lee? You can tell them apart can’t you? I didn’t raise you to be that stupid!” She was starting to get angry.

“It’s more complicated then that. We found there is a mate bond connection between identical twins and their mates. So I feel a bond to Lee as well. It’s just not as strong.” My mom shook her head and looked shock. “I know I’ve disappointed you and you warned me about pups out of mate marking, but I feel like I’m falling in love with both of them. I need to make a decision by my birthday or I will be lost to the mate bond and it will be hard to sever because of our pack.” My mom took my hand.

“If you were born as part of this pack.” I had heard already that I was adopted so this wasn’t a blow. “Hannah I know that doctor told you that you were adopted, I’m sorry it didn’t come from us.” She reached for my other hand but I pulled both of them away.

“Why would you even lie about that?” I felt tears threatening to spill over my lashes.

“On the night you came to us, I had lost my pup.” I could tell this wasn’t easy for her. “I prayed to the moon goddess to bless me with a pup. I was told by the doctor it would have to be a miracle.” She paused wiping her eyes. “That night when I fell asleep, a woman appeared. She told me I would be blessed with a very special pup. The pup wouldn’t be my blood pup but to raise it as my own. She told me to keep you on the right path. That you were fated to a alpha. I knew that night I dropped you off that one of those boys were going to be fated to you. I hoped you were going to tell me. When you didn’t, I assumed it was a different alpha.” She hugged me and I returned her embrace. “You have to understand, the woman asked me to raise you as my own.”

“I understand mom. I just need to process this all. I also have to go or I will be late to school.” I grabbed my book bag. My mom sat on the couch watching me.

“Hannah you are very special. You’re taking everything so much better then I could.” My mom wanted to say anything to make her better.

“Well, I don’t have a choice.” I said back as I walked out of the door. As I walked out I saw James standing by the car. He lit up when he saw me. Guilt washed over me. He walked up and took my bag. He kissed me taking my hand.

“Gorgeous again today my love.” I was taken back by his comment. “I won’t apologize for how I feel.” He smiled at me. Then I noticed, Lee in the back seat looking down at his hands.
