After a well-received performance from Josh, Suzi and Onnie Belle on their cellos, Handsy turned on a few of the disco lights he’d saved from The Broadway Cafe and a DJ took over. The booze flowed freely, and what was initially a small gathering for friends and family transformed into a block party, with many of our new neighbors stopping by to see what we’d done with Pete’s house, and staying for a cocktail or three. We’d painted the home canary yellow, with blood red trim. It was bright and festive, instantly catching your eye as you walked by. Pete had taken his fabulous sculptures with him when he moved, and though I’d never done much with sculpture before, I decided to fill up the backyard with original creations. Handsy boasted to our friends that he was fulfilling a lifelong dream
