Chapter two

I could not believe someone could be so heartless as to kill another for the mistakes I’d made. My tears streamed down my cheeks, did he really have to do this to my sister? I looked around, the condition of the house was unexplainable. It was in a condition that a mere look would tell that robbers had broken in and immediately that thought came to mind, I remembered my mum and Amelia. I called out to them but got no response. I immediately rushed to their rooms but on getting there, I couldn’t find anyone.

Fear was getting the best of me and I could only imagine what Alexander could be doing to them. I was on my way out of the house to go find them when I suddenly heard struggling and banging from the cupboard in Mum’s room. I rushed to the cupboard and on opening it, I saw that Amelia had been tied and gagged.

“Amelia!” I called as I took her out of the cupboard. She seemed to have been injured on the head and as I took her out and removed the gag, she only muttered one name, Ella.

“What happened Amelia? Why do you keep calling my mother’s name?” I asked her as I took her to the bed to lay down and that was when she dropped the bombshell. Alexander’s men had taken my mother away.

I gasped in shock as I broke down into tears. “What do you mean by that? Where have they taken my mother? Tell me Amelia, where have they taken my mother?” I yelled as I shook her.

“I don’t know. All I know is that they had injected Diana with a sedative that knocked her out before attacking me and locking me in the cupboard and then taking your mum away” she said and a certain realization hit me, did it mean my sister Diana wasn’t dead? I rushed to the sitting room where I’d seen her unconscious and shook her, calling her name but she didn’t wake up so I took a jug of water and splashed it on her and that was when I noticed her move. I gasped in excitement as I had now become sure that she wasn’t dead. The moment she opened her eyes, I pulled her in for an embrace.

“You’re alright!” I said in tears and she embraced me too.

“I’m alright Katy but mum isn’t “ she said weakly as she held on to her neck and that was when I realized that she must have been injected in the neck. She was right, my mother was still with Alexander Gunderson and I had to find her.

“I’ll be right back Diana, don’t open the door to anyone and make sure to take care of Amelia please, thanks” I told her before rushing out of the house. I wasn’t going to inform the police because they were at his finger tips but I was going to find my mother myself. I had a friend who was very good in all this and I was sure, he would definitely help me find my mother. I got on my scouter and drove off immediately.

ALEXANDER’S POV……

I rested my head on the chair’s headrest as I thought of what to do. I needed this billion dollar deal signed within a week but there was no way I was going to sign it if Kourtney, my girlfriend wasn’t willing to help. My wolf was so restless that I wasn’t able to think straight. Lothaire, my wolf was definitely my best friend because whenever I was stressed, it always felt restless but there was one thing I could never explain and that was it’s resentment to Kourtney. I was still in thought when an employee walked in.

“Sir, madam Kourtney Douglas has come to see you “ she said and I signaled for her to let Kourtney come in.

“Good morning baby” Kourtney said with a smile as she walked into my office, locking the door behind her.

I rolled my eyes, I didn’t see the use of having a girlfriend when she wasn’t going to be of any use to me. For some reason, the company I was trying to hard to sign a contract with wasn’t scared of me. They had all the connections they needed and they felt I was an underdog and I couldn’t even threaten them because I wanted to get the deal fair and square.

“And what’s good about the morning?” I asked her as I rolled my eyes and then my wolf started feeling restless. This had always been the case whenever I was with Kourtney. My wolf was never at peace!

She smiled before sitting opposite me, “Are you still upset with me baby? Listen to me, it’s not like I don’t want to help but I just can’t. I’m a model and I need my reputation to be stable first before I can go ahead and marry you. Listen to me, no one knows we’re dating and I have just bagged an endorsement with a big brand and should our wedding be exposed, everyone would think I only got the endorsement because my husband is the most feared don” she said and i rolled my eyes before shocking her.

“Wouldn’t they be telling the truth? Didn’t you get the endorsement through me?” I asked “It’s just a contract marriage so I can go ahead with my project “ i told her and she still refused. I was so shocked at her refusal to do such a mere thing for me and I couldn’t threaten her, I didn’t want to. All she had to do was get married to me so I could start the project with the company.

The project was one about love and marriage and the company felt that I didn’t know a thing about love because firstly, I was ruthless and secondly, I didn’t have a wife or a girlfriend. My wolf was so resentful to her and I couldn’t blame it. The curse was doing this to me.

She rolled her eyes before speaking. “I remember, didn’t you say there was a girl who’d slapped you because you harassed her sister after her father borrowed a large amount of money from you and couldn’t refund?” She asked.

“Yes, why do you ask?” Immediately we started the conversation about Kathryn , I felt my wolf slowly starting to relax and I couldn’t explain why.

“Tell her to marry you. You have kidn*pped her mother have you not? Tell her that in exchange for her mother’s release, she will have to marry you “ she said and I realized that the moment she proposed I get married to Kathryn, my wolf became so calm. This was the calmest it had ever been around anyone my entire life!
