Steve?

Alonzo's POV: It was currently four AM and I couldn't stop thinking about Jenna.  I know where she is, I know how to get there, what am I waiting for? My penthouse seemed dark from its emptiness and the sound of the wind swirling against the windows put me on edge. Sitting on my couch while sipping on some whiskey, I contemplated whether it'd be a good idea to go to her now. On the bright side: we'd be together.  On the other side: Well, who has time to think about that, right? As soon as I made up my mind, I stood from the couch with a little jump, and grabbed my coat while leaving the glass of liquor on a table, completely forgetting about the black slippers I had on. Taking my car and house keys with me, I made my way to the lowest level of the "Rembla Hotel", stepping inside my brand new dark blue car. With the direction typed on the GPS and my hands fidgeting with the need to touch her, I ended up getting to her apartment a lot faster than expected, probably gaining a few speeding tickets on the way. Opening the door with the spare key I had already made, I started climbing up the stairs to her floor and couldn't help but realize this situation was awfully similar to the dream I had a long time ago. Shrugging the thought out of my mind, I reached her door and knocked on it softly just in case she had been sleeping.  Don't want to scare her, or worse, piss her off. Just as I was about to knock again, the door swung open and there stood a young man with a baby in his arms. 'Oh for f***s sake', I thought to myself. "Alonzo?", the guy asked much to my surprise. "Steve?", I couldn't help but ask. "Wait, how do you know my name?"  "Who the f**k is Steve?", confusion was clear on his eyes. "Am I dreaming again?" I asked, feeling the headache starting to form. "Are you high?", he asked frustratingly. "Wha-" He sighed. "It's too late for this s**t" he mumbled while rubbing his eyes. "It's me, okay?, your cell buddy... Austin". Only then did I pay proper attention to his features. It was indeed him. Blonde hair, blue eyes, stupid smug face.  I missed him. With a smile, I attempted to hug him only to be stopped by the little one in his arms.  Not wanting to hurt the child, I simply settled with patting his shoulder in a warm manner, smiling brightly at my old friend. "It's good to see you out buddy, but um... No offense, what the hell are you doing here?", he asked confused with my presence. "Does Jenna Tattaglia live here?", I asked already knowing the answer. "Umm, no, but Jenna Somers does", he stated matter-of-factly. Chuckling slightly, I patted his back and waited for his mind to piece the puzzle together. It took the goon more than expected, though something in his eyes told me he already knew the answer to this situation, but didn't truly want to admit it. After his mouth shaped into an 'O' form, he chuckled embarrassedly. "She's the girl, huh?". "And she's your little sister", I spoke carefully, not quite knowing how he'll react to the whole situation. "Yeah, she is", he simply stated with an emotionless tone.  After a quick glance over his shoulder, he went back inside for a moment and returned with a blanket to cover the kid with. "Wanna go get take out?", he asked me. "But isn't Jenna-". "She's asleep, now come on, I'm always hungry after s*x", he urged while walking away towards the elevator. "WHAT?!?", I whisper-yelled because of the baby and the fact that all neighbors are asleep. An amused expression covered his features and this time, he patted my shoulder. "Come on man, I'm joking... partially. Now move it". Still with wariness visible on my face, we got into the elevator and left the building.  I automatically walked towards my car, and based on the fact that I heard Austin following me, I made the right choice.  I'm not walking on black slippers at four in the morning. Once we were both sitting on the car, I expected to see my cell buddy admire it in awe as this is a limited edition car, but instead was greeted with an impatient look on his face. "It's great to see you and all, but I'm hungry Alonzo. Drive.  Plus, if you're expecting a compliment on the car, I must warn you my automobile knowledge is restricted to the 'batmobile' and its gadgets.  Apart from that, all cars look the same to me". He simply started shrugging his shoulders. Giving him an amused smile, I drove off into the road in search of a take out place, only to finally stop at McDonald's.  Classics never hurt. After taking our orders from the drive through, I parked on an empty parking spot where we ate in silence. The baby was still fast asleep in Austin's arms, completely oblivious to the fact that we'd been moving and talking for a while. "Listen Alonzo, I love my sister, so as long as you truly love her and she feels the same for you, I have no problem with this". He said while eating some fries. "Glad to know cell buddy, thank you". With a sigh, I look forward and to the sky while taking a bite of my hamburger. "I'm glad you opened the door really, I almost messed up our first meeting outside prison", I said with disappointment lacing my words. How could I have lost control like that?, I wondered. "How come?", he asked with a confused expression, eating his chicken nuggets like his life depends on it. "I wanted to make it special, but couldn't wait so I just drove towards her. I almost ruined the moment" "But you didn't", he chirped in. This guy wasn't eating his food, he was inhaling it. "You have the chance to make it special man, I won't say anything. She won't know you're here, I promise". Turning to look at him, I saw a faint smile adorning his lips. "My sister deserves someone who cares for her buddy, and I have a feeling you two are a perfect match". His smile instantly disappeared when he looked down and realized he had run out of fries, sadness replacing it. Grabbing my own box, I hand it to Austin, gaining a full on grin from him. My eyes couldn't help but linger on the baby in his arms, sleeping peacefully with no thoughts clouding its mind. "Nice baby you got there" I said while nodding towards him. "Benjamin, my son. Gonna be a heartbreaker when he grows up", he stated smugly. "I thought Jenna didn't like fuckboys?", I inquired. Shrugging his shoulder while smirking, he looked down at Ben.  "She doesn't need to know". Chuckling once again, the car was filled with a comfortable silence, the both of us with our heads on the clouds. "I truly wish one day I get to hold a baby like that and call it my own", I said after realizing how proud Austin looked every time he glanced down at his child. I always thought it'd be nice to play the father role. Caring for someone and protecting them from their first breath till my last. "Hey, you never know, maybe you'll end up having one just like my boy". That thought alone brought a smile to my face, hoping he would be right. - An hour we spent on that car chit chatting before I took them back to Jenna's apartment. My mind was swirling with ideas of how our first encounter should be like.  Pretend it was a coincidence? Simply go look for her? Text her or call her first? There were so many ideas to consider, but not quite being as perfect as I needed it to be. You'll never forget that day farfalla, I'll make sure of it.
