The warm water rinsed my skin as I relaxed back against the cold shower tiles.
Before I took a long run in the woods to clear my mind. It makes me feel alive and free, the wind breezing through my hair and touching my skin, the sound of creaking leaves on the ground whilst I run over them. I love it all, it's one of the best feelings ever.
After a while I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a light red towel around my body.
I looked at the reflection of myself in the mirror. Puffy circles under my eyes is a sign for me to get some sleep. I dried my wet hair and walked out of the bathroom. I wore a pair of shorts and an oversized shirt to bed.
I yawned while I tucked myself in with the soft white blankets. The weekend is over and tomorrow I have to go to school. I almost rolled my eyes at the thought. I despised school so much. I'd do anything to get homeschooled but my mom does not aloud it.
Ridgewood high
Winchester.
I walked into history class seeing Phoebe sitting at our seats at the window side. Phoebe clapped her hands in excitement. "Why so excited?" I questioned.
She shot her eyes at me. "Zander is transferring to this school tomorrow. Violet I wanted to tell you yesterday but you were probably asleep."
“Oh that's great Phoebe. I'm so happy for you." I smiled. Zander is Phoebe's boyfriend but since he goes to another school they barely got to see each other.
"Thank you, this is honestly the best thing that happened to me this year." her eyes shined.
I grabbed a book out of my bag and placed it on the table. I sighed but then the door smashed open sending an angry Miss Charles through the classroom. "Good Morning class grab your book so you can start reading." she yelled.
I opened my book and started reading.
"Psst." A girl whispered to us and me and phoebe both looked up at her. "Yes?"
"So we are giving a party at my house tonight and we need more people so you guys wanna come or what?"
Is this girl inviting us, us? I can't believe it. We don't get invited to parties a lot, especially me. "Uhm phoebe?" I glanced at her.
Phoebe nodded a yes. I looked back at the girl. "Yea sure." I said. The girl smiled. "Great, see you guys there."
"A party omg we're going to a party. Girl this has never happened to us, I have to do my hair and makeup and buy new clothes oh my god." She yelled-whispered.
"SILENCE!" Miss Charles spat.
After hours of school we went to Phoebe's house dressing up for the party and doing our makeup.
"This dress is hot." She threw a tight red dress at my head. "No way I'm wearing that!" I threw it back at her.
I don't hate dresses but I just think they don't look good on me plus it makes me feel uncomfortable.
I mostly just prefer a hot top and some great pants or a cute skirt.
I searched for a dress in Phoebe's closet but couldn't find any cute ones.
"You know what phoebe, I'll just wear a top and these pants, i'm not in the mood to wear a dress right now." I turned around but Phoebe wasn't there. Where the hell is she.
"Phoebe!" I yelled. And then she appeared sprinting back in her room with two black dresses in her hand.
"Where were you?" I asked.
Phoebe grinned. "Look what I found in my mom's closet. These sexy black dresses!"
She handed one to me. "Oh my- girl does your mom allow this?"
"Honestly I don't know but who cares. And I think you'll look great in this dress because it let's you see the curves you know."
“Curves?" I raised a brow. "Yes Violet you have beautiful curves and you're thick unlike me I'm flat as f**k. Now please go try it on." she smiled at me.
People always tend to tell me I have a beautiful body but I just think i'm chubby. My thighs are too thick and my stomach isn't the flattest it madd me insecure.
I pouted my lips. "Thank you baby."
Phoebe and I have been friends since middle school. She always had my back when others didn't and I trust her with my whole soul.
But she's completely the opposite of me. She had soft curly blonde hair that rested on her shoulder, hazel green eyes and big plump lips. She had a beautiful slim body while I had curves here and there and was thicker.
I had thick long wavy brown hair, chocolate brown eyes and freckles that covered my almond round face.
I walked inside her bathroom and closed the door. I took the dress out of the cloth hanger. As I undressed myself there was a knock on the door. "Are you done?" Phoebe said.
I rolled my eyes "Uhm no I'm not that fast."
I tried to wear the dress but it didn't fit.
Phoebe banged on the bathroom door. "Come out!"
I gripped onto the dress that she had given me but the damn thing wouldn't even go past my hips. "Just give it a little tug Violet!" I thought to myself.
After a few more pulls, I released the material from my fist. "It's too small. I'm just gonna wear something else." I said. This is the perfect excuse to wear something else for tonight and it wasn't even an excuse which made me feel that much better about it.
She wiggled the handle and pushed open the door. I covered my chest with my hands. "Phoebe!"
She leaned down and grabbed the one piece. "It's gonna fit!" Then she pulled, prodded, yanked and yelled for 10 minutes. I was done with it and walked away. "What the hell, girl!" she sighed.
“I'm just gonna try the other black dress you had, and this one looks ugly anyway."
She rolled her eyes. "Alright."
After an hour we were done with our makeup and dresses. I had a black spaghetti strap dress and before this I already styled my curtain bangs. A little bit of lipgloss, mascara and voilà.
Phoebe walked down the stairs while I grabbed her purse with me in the car. I sat down in the driver's seat and she was beside me. "Did I already told you how hot you look?" I said looking at Phoebe she had fake lashes red lipstick and her dress was also bright red.
"Omg stop. You look hotter." She blushed.
"No but thanks."
Phoebe started the car and we drove off.
