Breaking Me

Chapter 6- Alex POV

                     A low growl came from within me, calm yourself she just bumped in to him, ‘who is he Alex’ Axel my wolf spoke to me, a soul within, we are two sides of the same coin, one man and one wolf but together a force to be recon with, this is how we were born, a consciousness inside us, a wolf that grows with us and will be with us till we die, my best friend my brother which means we don’t always see eye to eye. ‘Calm okay, would it make you feel better if I had some men look in to him’ I thought back to him ‘yes it would, now would you hurry up I want to see her again’ Axel growling at me ‘she’s not our mate you know’ I linked to him ‘I know that Alex but something draws me to her like we are supposed to protect her’ I feel him getting more agitated the longer we are away from her but she’s not meant to be ours ‘I feel it too Axel but be steady.’

                    I walk to the entrance and signal one of my female warriors placed in plain cloths “I want you to get as much information from the guy with the amber eyes as you can, then report back” I say to her “yes alpha” she replies “oh and be careful, he’s human but not normal okay” she nods and walks off in his direction, I could tell he was like Willow, they just had this aura around them and his was glowing like the sun, were as Willow was like a pearl. 

                   ‘Satisfied now Axel’ he replies with a low growl I suppose that’s the best I’m going to get. I walked over to meet the newly appointed Demon king Carson “Welcome to my club Carson, it been a long time” I say while shaking his hand “well hello Alpha, thank you for inviting us to your club” he says in a strong British accent, even though he runs the seven kingdoms of hell, he does all his businesses in the UK, so he has residence there along with his six brothers.

                   Being King doesn’t come cheap, neither does being Alpha, having pack wages to pay for, we have decided to do business together to increase our wealth. “so who was the cute slivered hair girl you were talking too” he says while smiling in her direction ‘back off demon’ Axel growled in my head “she’s a guest of mine and I would appreciate if you stayed away” calming Axel in my head ‘remember she’s not our mate Axel so calm down’ he growls back but I know it’s an understanding one. “well since you asked nicely, but I can’t guarantee she will stay away from me” he winks, god he’s so full of himself.

                    I finished up my conversation with Carson and was about to join Marco again, when my warrior stopped me “Alpha, I got a name for you” she says taking me to one side “what’s his name?” I ask “Jake, Alpha but I couldn’t get a last name” she replied “did you get anything else?” I ask her “yes I managed to get his finger prints and have already sent to a friend of mine and we will know in a few hours if anything flags up, do you need anything else Alpha” she says “no thank you, take the rest of the night off we have plenty of guards on tonight” I tell her “thank you Alpha” she says as she walks away ‘I know it’s not what you wanted but I have no reason to kick him out but I have people watching him’ I thought, a low growl was my only reply, typical it’s like he’s a moody teenager sometimes I mean we’re 27.

                   I walk past the bar as I headed over to the VIP booth’s ordering 4 bottles of champagne and instruct my staff to bring it over. ‘Can we see her now please’ Axel howls ‘god you’re like a dog with a bone’ I laugh back at him ‘not funny’ he growls. We make are way over, the dance floor is full, and the DJ is banging. I almost make it when I get stopped by the pack’s reporter Lexi, being one of the biggest packs in the world we have our own news outlets to cover all the goings on, otherwise no one would know anything, as there is just too much that goes on. 

                    “So, Alpha do you think you will meet our Luna tonight” she says shoving a recorder in my face “Lexi do you see me mating with anyone or stuck to them like glue?” I ask her in a sarcastic tone “well no I don’t” Lexi replies “well there is your answer” I’m about to walk away when she asks, “well who was the girl you brought through the back?” I sigh and turn to face her “a friend, now can we drop the third degree”, “look Alex I’m just trying to get want the readers want, your almost 28 and Alpha’s are supposed to find there Luna’s at 21, or you know the pack falls apart” she whispers the last bit, she’s got guts I will give her that.

                   “Does the pack look like it’s falling apart to you?” I ask her in my Alpha voice, I hate it, but it makes people stop and listen “well no it isn’t” she replies sheepishly. “well I suggest you drop the subject and write something else” she drops her head, knowing that she pushed the line. I felt bad for her, she was only doing her job, I then whispered to her  “look between you and me there may be a celebration soon, this means I will invite other packs, she sure isn’t in ours like I hoped but I shall be looking for one then” a smile formed across her face “thanks Alpha”, “and I mean between us” she nods and walks away towards some of my guests.

                  I finally reach the booth were Willow is waving a man and woman over, “Alex!” Marco calls, I walk over to him and Jess, “Alex you remember Jess don’t you” he asks “how could I forget, you came to our last pack BBQ, you brought that amazing chocolate cake” she smiles and blushes at my complement “so what did you think of Willow?” Jess asks, I turn and look at her as she’s saying hello to that man and woman, I just saw her waving at, turning back I said, “well I like her hair” I smile, and she punches me “hey!” I said rubbing my arm “that didn’t hurt” Jess said, Marco was right I would like Jess, and he made the right choice. “well she’s beautiful and yes I will ask her out before you punch me again” I say still rubbing my arm to play her up.

                    “Willow, bring Jeremy and Malissa over to meet Alex” Marco shouting over the music, “nice to meet you Alex I’m Jeremy” he says reaching his hand out to shake mine “nice to meet you and you must be Malissa” she blushes “its lovely to meet you” she says almost biting her lips. ‘wow she needs calm down it looks like she wants to jump on you’ I smile at her ‘Axel shut up’ Marco starts to laugh he must have herd Axel. The champagne arrives finally “let me make a toast” I say holding my glass up “to old and new friends, cheers” clinking it together first with Willow. “I too have an announcement” Marco spoke, he puts his glass down and reaches into his pocket, while getting down on one knee, Jess gasps and holds her hands over her open mouth “Jessica, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife and my chosen mate?”
