I woke up to a sleeping Aria curled into my chest. For a moment, I just lay there, staring at her. Peaceful.
A strand of hair had slipped across her cheek, and I reached up to brush it away. She didn't stir. Not even a twitch. I chuckled under my breath. The same person who said she'd be at the clinic bright and early.
Careful not to wake her, I slid my arm out from under her and got off the bed. Tugging the covers higher, I tucked them around her body, making sure she was comfortable before heading out.
I went straight to the kitchen, rolling up my sleeves. If I couldn't fix the mess Damien had caused right this second, at least I could do something simple like breakfast.
