There was an awkward silence when I walked into the office the next day. I was met with stares from the occupant of every desk I passed by. There were also the not so subtle whispers among the several groups that gathered at varying points throughout the office. As I predicted I didn’t sleep a wink the night before, I had tossed and turned the entire night, and I knew I looked a wreck. My eyes looked hollow, with deep dark circles around them.
