Selena stood by her father’s grave, an all-black silhouette against the gray sky. A delicate black gauze hat partially shielded her beautiful, sharp features. She placed Alpha Brown’s favorite rosemary—a simple gesture for the man the entire Pack revered.
His grave lay on the peak, a privilege reserved only for the Pack’s greatest heroes, allowing him to oversee the Blackthorn Pack forever.
But Selena knew her father didn't care for glory. The dutiful Alpha Brown only wanted his Pack to thrive.
Still, Selena believed he deserved the best, so she had ceded to the Elders’ choice for the grandest burial spot.
The cemetery was now her sanctuary, a place she visited every weekend to talk to her father.
