Our eyes met for a second too long.
It was reckless, the way I let myself look at her like that. She did not feel the same way about us, and that was the reason she ran away.
She looked away first, like she could not bear to hold eye contact with me, and me, I did not like the way my heart fell when I did not have her eyes on me. My wolf didn’t either.
Good, it was better that way. That was what I tried to tell myself even though I doubt it was even working.
