Leaning against my front door, I take a deep breath as the familiar scent of my apartment surrounds me, but it feels different now—as if I am walking into someone else's life. I feel like I am not the same person anymore like I left one way and returned another as everything that happened on the cruise come crashing down at once.
It’s like a jolt back to reality but a new reality, and I close my eyes for a second to steady myself. When I open them, I head inside.
The plan is to drive to my parents’ place in Outer Sunset. It’s only about sixteen to twenty minutes away with traffic, so I should get there in no time and I can’t wait. I miss my family so much even though it’s only been a few days.
