I knew Julie knew my feelings now, but I was still unsure of hers. She was a woman that had been hurt, and I wanted to make sure she wouldn't get hurt again. I told her that we needed to take it slow and let what developed develop naturally, not forced. Surprisingly, she agreed with me. She even made it a point to let me know where her other relationships had gone bad. Six weeks after our first formal date, I had lunch with Carolyn. She was now a full doctor and very busy.
