The maintenance room was indeed full of roaring machinery and chuffing contraptions, fans, steamy valves, and whooshing air vents. It was like a maze. Rows and rows of furnaces and boilers, and electrical panels. You turned left: more chuffing contraptions. Turn right: pipes and wires leading to more machines and other corridors with more mechanical devices. And behind it all was the dull hum of electricity droning on like an endless note from a dark symphony. Vommmmm... !
