CHAPTER TWENTY TWO After a while, the feeling of exhaustion had become just a minor irritation to Mackenzie. She now felt a lack of sleep in the same way some people dealt with a bothersome headache that came and went from time to time. When she and Ellington pulled into the rear parking lot of St. Peter’s Cathedral, it was 6:20 a.m. and Mackenzie had enjoyed about six total hours of sleep in the past thirty-six hours.
