CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR There were two police officers waiting for them when they arrived and Mackenzie could tell right away that they were just as confused as she was. They did, however, look slightly relieved when she and Ellington got out of the car. “What the hell is going on?” Mackenzie asked the officer who was flanking them on the left. “Some guy just came in this morning and confessed to it all.” “Is there any evidence against him?” “He knows more than he should about the crime scenes,” the officer said. “Honestly, I don’t know that much.
