Frustration

Tracy’s POV

The next day was no different from every other day in school, no one paid much attention to me but the whole school was still as busy as it always was and today’s hot topic was about Jason’s new girlfriend

I sighed poking at the food on my tray

How time flies when all that’s running through your mind is the details of your everyday troubles

They just keep piling up

“Hey, why are you poking at your food like a tired zombie?” Reece sat by my side her as she puts her tray down and seeing that I didn’t respond she continued “is this about Jason and Samantha going out” she asked as she shoves her sausage into her mouth messily

“Come on, we both know that it’s not going to work just like the others” she rolled her eyes and I sighed still poking at the uninteresting food at this point

First there is Percy who was threatening me with that voice recording and now Jason had to have a girlfriend and I still feel hurt by it

When was this going to end?

How on earth was I suppose to put an end to this feelings I have for him?

“…Tracy are you even listening to me?”

“Huh… what were you…”

“Hi there ladies” Jason’s voice interrupted us as he sat on the bench opposite us along with his blond haired girlfriend Samantha and Reece who had turned towards me, turned back around to face the duo.

“Hi Jason, I thought you’ve been snagged away from our table for the mean time” Reece greeted cheerfully, a bit of a mocking mirth in her voice`

“Nah, not this time” he chuckled as he cuts at his food while sneaking glances at the girl beside him who in turn blushes “I want to introduce you guys formally to my girlfriend”

“Woah, you never introduced your girlfriends to us before” Reece chipped in with a smile while my heart beat goes in a whirlwind, causing a painful swirl in my chest

“This time it’s different” he said “so guys meet Samantha” he gestured at her with an adoring smile “and Samantha, Reece and T” he pointed at us respectively

“Hello Reece, Hello T” she smiled as she waved both her hands at us

I scoffed internally at that

Does she think she’s a female K-pop star trying to act all cute and stuff? How annoying

“It’s actually Tracy” I suddenly said “only my friends get to call me T”

“Tracy…”

“I didn’t know that” Percy’s voice pierced through the air cutting Jason off

He sat close to me and looked straight at me like every other person on the table wasn’t present

“T?” he teased “I like it”

“f**k of Percy, what the hell are you doing here?” Jason gritted as he glared at the gray eyed boy who sat unmoved

“Sitting with my friend, as you can see” Percy replied, a satisfied smirk on his face

“The f**k… T, what’s going on?”

“It’s…” I swallowed

How would Jason feel about me agreeing to being friends with his enemy Percy? He’d definitely be mad but if I told him it’s not true, Percy might just up and expose me right here in the dining hall

“We … we became friends recently”

“What?” Jason stood up, a stupefied expression on his face “why would you make friends with him when you know how I feel about him” he frowned at me and I shrink a bit into myself

“Why? You get to introduce someone you want to the table so why can’t I?” I wasn’t even sure of what I was saying

“Because I hate this motherfucker and you know it” he pointed at the i***t who just calmly ate his food with a smile on his face as he watched us quarrel

“And how do you know I don’t hate her too?”

Jason’s eyes widened in disbelief

“Let’s go Samantha, I just lost my apetite” he picked his bag up and left with a betrayed look on his face. One which I hated

The last time I saw that look, we were thirteen and he had caught me red-handedly stabbing at his football with a sharp screw

Jason was so mad at me he refused to talk to me for a while and on the third day when he was still avoiding me, I conered him after school to explain myself

He had been spending too much of his time with his friends because they were always playing ball together while he had no time for me.

I just wanted more of his attention was all

He forgave me of course after a bit of a scolding where he promised he would not do that again and made me promise not to do what I did

And since then, I promised myself that I’d never make him look at me with those eyes again but yet that just happened and I felt like crying as I squeezed at my skirt with one hand while looking down at my tray

“That was fun to watch” Percy stabbed at my abused burritos and shoved them into his mouth before he got up with his empty tray “see you later, T” and with that he left

“But isn’t she Jason’s long time friend, why is she hanging out with Percy? Everyone knows those two don’t get along”

“it could be because he got a girlfriend and she’s super jealous but then again it’s too much to choose his enemy”

Hushed whispers that were pretty easy to hear if they were even trying to hide it

Reece sighed beside me as she dragged my tray to stack up on her own before getting up

“Let’s go, we need to talk”

“So what’s up?” she asked as we got to an empty classroom after dunking our trays in a bin “what’s this thing with Percy all about, I mean, you never liked the guy so why get in a fight with Jason over him”

My head was bowed low so I could hear her talking but I just couldn’t say a word, too scared I might break down if I did

“Are you even listening to me T?

“Tracy!”

“Tracy!”

“Goddammit Reece, this is all your fault so stop shouting” I yelled as I left the desk I was leaning on to sit on the seat behind it, my face in my palm “if you hadn’t made me drag you up to the rooftop the other day then he wouldn’t have heard and blackmail me with everything we said there”

“What… how did… but there was nobody on the rooftop that day so how?” She stuttered

“I was just as flabbagasted as you are” I raised my head to look at her and sniffled, I could feel my eyes tearing “what am I going to do now? I can’t have Jason find out about Adrian and I”

“Worry more about yourself i***t!” she shouted and the cry just left me and I buried my face into my palms again “s**t, this is a pretty serious situation” she bites down on her bottom lips, something she does whenever she nervous or scared

“For now just make peace with Jason, I really don’t like it when you guys fight” she suddenly said after a few seconds of silence “plus I think that’s something that Percy wants to see so don’t give it to him that easily” she paused and stomped her feet on the ground “what bad timing, just when Jason has a girlfriend and your heart is breaking”

Damn I was really crying like a baby today

Reece sighed as she sat criss-cross on the floor in front of me not minding if it was dirty

“Even I must admit that Jason does seem different with Samantha than he was with those other girls in the past” she said softly “but maybe this is just another sign for you to give up on him T”

My shoulders shake violently as I cried

Her words had been my thought since a week before I went on a date with Adrian, hearing them from her makes me feel strongly about it more now

I should really give up

“But’s it’s not that easy Reece”

“I know” she leaned forward to pull my hands away from my face “but would you sacrifice your longtime friendship for something that might never happen?”

I sniffled and shook my head

I wouldn’t want that, not at all

“So make peace with him first and after that, we can look for ways to destroy the evidence Percy has”

“Destroy?” why didn’t I think of that sooner, I could have even grabbed his phone and smashed it to the ground

“Yes destroy, focus T” she snapped her fingers in front of my face “just play along for now until we find a perfect opportunity to get our hands on his devices” she sighed and looked up “if only I had finished the hacking program I was doing last year, this would have been a piece of cake”

“Reece!” my emotions were surging at having such a brilliant and always there friend so i got on my knees and hugged her

“Don’t feel bad T, you did nothing wrong, you just joined the ninty-five percent of dis-virgined students in this school, simply because someone knows doesn’t make it a taboo” she patted my back “you didn’t hurt anyone, well, except Mr. Adrian that is”

She whispered and I jabbed my fingers at her side playfully and we both laughed

“Thank God you’re my friend Reece, what could I have done without you” I said as our laughter calmed down and I buried my face in her thin shoulder

“Same goes for you T” she said “but this is no time to chicken out” she pulled away from the hug and got up, pulling me along with her “you have to go talk to Jason”

“what, now?”

“Yes now” she answered with a blank face and pulled me with her as we exited the class and she shoved me in the direction of where the gym is

Jason had PE the period after launch break so he would be there by now

Shit, after seeing his face just minutes ago, I was pretty scared of talking to him

But then again no pain no gain

Let me try to get my friend back, I may not be his girlfriend but I’m pretty sure I’m equally as important to him and can’t lose him

And so I followed Reece’s advice and headed straight for the gym
