"You took so long to come back." Janice said immediately Jade made her presence known at work. Jade bit her lips, sensing that her inability to come back early must have created some kinds of problem.
"I know but something came up."
"You'd have to explain that to boss. She found someone else to replace you." Janice gossiped.
Jade's expression fell instantly. She leaned against the wall, wondering what next to do.
"I suggest that you go and see her first then try to explain things to her. What about that?" Janice spoke her mind.
Jade nodded and went to her boss' office. She knocked and only entered after she had been given permission.
"Come in."
She pushed the door open. The woman looked up from her desk but almost as if her presence was an eyesore, she scowled.
