Chapter 16: The Lost Consciousness

671 Words
A layer of purple-red mist shrouded the world before me, as if I were immersed in a forgotten dream. In the haze, I sensed a strange flow, as if all matter was dancing to a mysterious rhythm. Looking around, I found myself in an unusual forest. This forest was different. The trees were arranged with an almost eerie precision, as if meticulously planned. The trees themselves were of unfamiliar species, beyond anything I had known before. Their trunks were slender yet extraordinarily tall, reaching so high that looking up, their tops seemed to touch the sky, vanishing into the clouds. The dense foliage intertwined, forming a green canopy that blocked out the sun. In stark contrast to the lush forest, the ground was remarkably barren. No grass, no mushrooms, not even moss could be seen. It puzzled me—how could such damp air and dense trees coexist with such a desolate forest floor? I tried to find a way out, but endless trees surrounded me, with no end in sight. Moonlight filtered through the leaves, casting silvery patches on the ground, adding a poetic touch to this mysterious forest. But at that moment, I had no mind to appreciate the beauty. My heart was filled with confusion and unease. I wandered aimlessly, and time seemed to stretch and weigh heavily. I felt as though I was walking in place, the scenery around me unchanged. I began to doubt—was all of this merely a figment of my imagination? Just as I was about to give up, a cold yet familiar voice echoed ahead of me: “You are here, Shi Yunqian.” I looked up to see a slender figure standing in the depths of the forest, back turned to me. I hurried forward, eager to see the person’s face, but they never turned around. In that clear, cold voice, she continued, “This is your world of consciousness, Shi Yunqian.” “My world of consciousness?” I asked in surprise. “How did I end up here? I've never experienced anything like this before.” “You have been here before,” the woman replied calmly. “But those memories are buried deep within your heart, beyond your reach.” “What is this place? Why am I here?” I asked urgently. “This is the deepest part of your consciousness, the truest, most hidden part of your inner world,” she explained. “You are here because you have once again touched the supernatural. The gears of fate have begun to turn anew, and you cannot escape it.” “Supernatural? The gears of fate?” I echoed in confusion. “What are these? How do I leave this place?” The woman was silent for a moment, then slowly said, “Leaving this place is not easy, but you must confront your inner fears and confusion. Only when you truly understand yourself can you find the way out.” “How do I do that?” I asked urgently. “First, you need to calm down and feel the existence of this world,” she said. “Then, you need to delve into your inner self and search for those buried memories. When you find them, you will understand why you are here and how to leave.” Following her instructions, I calmed myself and felt the world around me. Gradually, I sensed my consciousness beginning to blur, as if merging with the forest. Shadows of my past emerged, and forgotten memories surfaced in my mind. I saw my past struggles and confusion, but also the courage and determination deep within me. Those buried memories were like keys, unlocking the doors to the depths of my heart. Eventually, I found the way out. When I opened my eyes again, I discovered I had returned to the real world. I took a deep breath, feeling the fresh air and warm sunlight. I knew I had found my direction and the courage to face the future.
