ORPHAN

NIA. "Nate." I moaned, letting out a sigh of relief as I snuggled deeper into his embrace, enjoying the warmth and comfort I was getting from him. I didn't care whether this man chose his ex over me or framed me for a crime I didn't commit; all that mattered was he came for me. "Are you alright?" He asked tenderly, stroking my hair in the process. I felt touched, and my face broke into a smile as I nodded at him. "I am so sorry for getting you arrested, but someone did truly snitch away information, and the shareholders were getting angry, threatening to withdraw their investments, which was why I did what I did to save the company." Nate explained, and I understood him. 'How could I have been so inconsiderate and blame him for what he did?' I pondered. The company was more important. "Please forgive me. I will do whatever it takes to make it up to you". He swore, pleading in his sparkly blue eyes. Suddenly, I felt a tight pull in my heart, like he was lying, but his eyes looked so genuine, and he seemed sorry, so I caved, but that was because I desperately also wanted to believe that was the truth. "It's okay. All that matters is you came for me". I told him, tightening my grip on his arms like he was suddenly going to disappear into thin air. "Thank you so much. I promise to find the real culprit and put them to justice. He promised, bending to peck me on my forehead, his hands moving around me to stroke my back soothingly. I let out another moan, biting my lower lip, enjoying his touch. Nate did always find ways to relieve me. Just then, I felt him place his face on my neck, pecking me all over. I wrapped my hands around his neck and arched into him, especially when his huge hands grabbed my breast and stroked my n*****s through my gown. "Yes." I whimpered as I tugged on his suit, wanting and needing him at the moment. Just then, "We are here, sir." His driver called out, and I let out a groan of protest before reluctantly tearing away from Nate, whose aura seemed to change all of a sudden. I ignored it and made to touch him again when the driver came down over to my side to open the door wide. "Get down." Nate ordered, his tone turning stern and scary once again. I looked out and noticed we were not at home, nor were we at the company, so where were we? Everywhere was just dark and silent, like a graveyard. The cold air from outside crept into the car, wrapping around me like a snake, so I shivered before turning to face Nate. "Where are we?" I inquired. He looked at me, the tenderness in his eyes gone and replaced with loath. Deep one, like he wanted to kill me. I felt shivers run down my spine as I reared backward in shock, almost falling from the car. "I told you to get the f**k down". He snapped, using his hand to push me roughly and I fell with a shriek, from the car to the rough, sandy ground. I saw stars as my head hit the floor like a loud blow was delivered to it. My head started banging, and my vision grew blurry, but I blinked repeatedly to get myself, biting on my lower lips hard. "Must you be such a pest?" Nate commented rudely, getting out of his car and walking to where I was lying on the ground. I didn't even pay attention to him or his words. All I cared about was getting up, and I tried to but fell backward to the ground with a loud thud, my entire body feeling like it was on fire. All the injuries and body aches I thought were gone earlier, were back with full force now. I turned my head sideways, feeling numb and weak. "N-n-nate". I struggled to call, needing his help, raising my hand towards him with difficulty but he kicked it away with his foot, stomping on it. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as I yelped in agony, my hand feeling broken. Tears streamed in my eyes. 'What was going on, why was he doing this to me? I thought he came for me. I wondered, different thoughts running through my mind and making me more uncomfortable. "Do you think I came to save you?" He began then burst into a wicked laugh that sent my heart racing from fear. "So naive. You believed my lies. I framed you to get rid of you, Nia. You are too suffocating, but unfortunately, that prisoner didn't do her job well. She was supposed to injure you beyond recovery". He continued talking, but the rest of his words fell on deaf ears as I realized, Nate was behind me being beaten up. Nate was my enemy. I thought it was Ashely but it was Nate. 'Did he have something to do with the death of our baby too?' I wondered. Words couldn't describe the amount of pain that rushed me at the moment. Multiple emotions, relating to sorrows filling my heart. Before I knew it, a tear dropped, and another, with another till I was crying a river. My heart tightened as I suddenly found it difficult to breathe. I believed him because I loved him. Was willing to be a fool as long as he just glanced at me. Now I look through everything, Nate was right. I really was pathetic and native. Laying there on the floor as he kept on talking, his words fading out, going through one ear, and out of the other. I clenched my hands together into fists, especially the broken one which hurts like hell. 'I was done.' I thought. "Anyways, so long. I doubt you will survive here because it is rumoured thugs roam about this place, especially at a time like this. Do you think they will be grateful I left them a meal?" Nate enquired like it was some sort of joke before chuckling and getting into the car with his driver, leaving me all alone here to rot. One of his words stuck with me, though. "Ashley wants your existence wiped off the surface of the earth, and I shall do anything for her." Remembering these words was like intentionally shoving a knife through my chest and twisting it. Before I knew it, I was laughing, with tears rolling down my cheeks. Laughing so hard, my tummy hurts. I refuse to just go down like this; I refuse to allow my fate to rest in their hands. "Nate, Ashley. Pray I don't survive, because if I do, you guys will regret everything you ever did to me. I will make you all pay, even if I have to sell my soul to the devil to make sure of that". I cried out into the dark night. "You know I can actually help you with that." A voice rang out from behind me, and I stiffened, remembering Nate's words about thugs. Oh God! Was this how I was about to end? "By the way, how have you been, dear daughter? Have you learnt your lessons yet?". Only one of his words sank into me. He called me daughter. How come? I was a freaking orphan.
