Griffin was turning his attention to as we sat down. "What's your accent...you British?"
smiled politely at him. "Australian."
Griffin nodded, like he knew that all along. "Ahhhh. Ahoy, mate."
Kellan and Evan laughed. Matt looked over at him like he was the world's biggest i***t. "Dude, he is Australian...not a pirate."
Griffin sniffed haughtily. "Whatever." He took a swig of his beer.
Laughing a little, asked, "What's the identify of your band anyway?"
Griffin chuckled while Kellan stated, "D-Bags."
I looked over at him incredulously and then smiled. "Seriously?"
Griffin pretty frowned a little. "They made me condense it, the p*****s. I wanted the full thing. State it loud, nation it proud!" He smacked the table.
Matt rolled his eyes. "If we ever want to play someplace better than Pete's, then we want a name they can put on the marquee." At least one of them appeared to have dreams for a better future.
Griffin shot an irritated look over to Matt, while Kellan and Evan chuckled. "Dude, I made t-shirts... "
"No one is stopping you from carrying them," Matt muttered, rolling his eyes again.
Kellan and Evan laughed harder, and even chuckled a little. I couldn't assist but smile at them. "Are you guys brothers?"
Griffin appeared at me in horror. "Absolutely not!"
Surprised, I appeared returned at Matt and then to him again. They clearly should have been twins. "Oh, sorry it's simply you appear so..."
"We're cousins," Matt explained. "Our dad's are twins, so the resemblance is...unfortunate." He frowned.
Griffin snorted again. "Unfortunate for you...that I'm hotter." The relaxation of the guys at the table laughed while Matt rolled his eyes again.
Abruptly, Kellan lifted two fingers in the air and nodding his chin up, motioned the fingers down at and me. I seemed across the room to the place he was once focused. An older woman, who smiled at him oddly, used to be jogging the bar at the some distance cease of the long room. She regarded to be aware of exactly what he meant, and exceeded two beer bottles to a waitress, pointing her in our direction.
I looked lower back over at Kellan, but he used to be already talking with about 's new job position. Kellan was once curious about what an internship in advertising entailed. Having heard the story a million times before, I tuned it out and took a seem to be around the bar.
Pete's used to be warm and comfy looking. The floors have been oak and worn with years of use. The walls have been a excellent cream and crimson with nearly each rectangular inch protected with signs of various manufacturers of beers. Dozens of tables, in varying sizes and styles, dotted the wood floor, crammed packed where they ought to fit, barring for a twenty foot vicinity in the front of the stage that took up one of the shorter walls.
The stage was once oak as well, the wall at the back of it painted black, and included with placing guitars in distinct patterns and colors. Huge audio system sat on either aspect of the stage, pointing out toward the crowd. The lights above the stage have been presently off and the microphones, guitars, and drums sat on the darkened stage, ready for their owners.
I appeared over to the different aspect of the large rectangular room whilst the guys chatted round me. The other brief wall was one lengthy bar. The replicate at the back of the bar used to be lined with shelves, all crammed with each bottle of liquor you may want to imagine. The bartender was once now busy filling drinks for the crowd beginning to pour in from the double doors alongside the the front wall. Large windows dotted that wall, letting in the glow of the quite a number neon bar signs.
A pretty, blonde waitress approached, and surpassed and me our beers. We thanked her and Kellan gave her a pleasant nod, which made me curious for a second. The waitress solely smiled politely at him however, so I figured they had been just friends.
I sipped my beer and watched the waitress stroll through some double doors on the other lengthy wall of the bar. I ought to see metal and movement, and hear the clatter of food being prepared. That need to be the kitchen. A massive archway, now not some distance from the kitchen doors, led to a first rate sized room that appeared to have a couple pool tables in it. Continuing down the relaxation of the wall, I noticed a hallway shut to the stage that receded round a corner, symptoms above it indicating that restrooms were in that direction.
As I was searching at the hallway, my eyesight came throughout the two women who had been watching the guys earlier. and I had been now in part blockading their view, sitting on the quit of the table as we were. The one who overtly desired Kellan did now not look joyful that I was once sitting proper subsequent to him. In fact, she appeared downright pissed. I quickly became lower back around.
I felt anyone drawing near me from in the back of then, and for a moment, I involved that the lady was going to try and begin something with me. My physique involuntarily tensed as I regarded over my shoulder. I sighed softly with remedy at the sight of an older man coming near our table.
He was dressed nicely, in khaki slacks and a pink collared shirt with the name of the bar in the higher corner. He appeared to be in his mid-fifties with graying hair and a weathered face. He did no longer currently look comfortable at all.
"Guys ready? You're up in five," he sighed heavily.
"You alright, Pete?" Kellan asked him, frowning a little.
I blinked. Pete ought to be the proprietor of Pete's. How cute.
"No...Traci quit over the phone, she's now not coming back. I had to have Kate pull a double, so we were protected tonight." He glared, as an alternative angrily, at Kellan. That made me curious, till I remembered that the ex-roommate, Joey, had left due to the fact of Kellan. Maybe it was once a pattern with him?
Kellan in turn, glared over at Griffin. He appeared a little sheepish and took a long swig of his beer earlier than muttering, "Sorry, Pete."
Pete sighed and shook his head. I wager there were just some risks that Pete used to be accustomed to involving his entertainment. Surprising myself I said, "I was once a waitress. I need to get a job, and working nights would be ideal when school starts."
Pete appeared over at me curiously and then lower back to Kellan. Kellan smiled and pointed to us with his bottle in turn. "Pete, these are my new roommates, , Askel."
Pete nodded and looked me over. "You twenty-one?"
I smiled nervously. "Yeah, in view that May." I puzzled briefly what he would do if I said 'no' whilst sipping on a beer?
He nodded again. "All right. I should use the assist soon though. Can you start Monday, six pm?"
I looked over at , wondering if I need to have talked this over with him first. With his internship for the duration of the day, nights would be all we had together. He was smiling at me though, and nodded close to imperceptibly.
"Yeah, that would be fine. Thank you," I stated quietly. And simply like that, one full day being in this new city, I had a job.

My New Job
Listening to the band play their full set was amazing. They genuinely were right at what they did and Kellan was once unbelievable. I was a little surprised that someone hadn't scooped him up yet. He used to be the poster baby for a bankable rock superstar - talented, seductive and smoking hot. And they already had quite the fan base; almost at once upon beginning their set, the flooring around the stage had crowded with people.
pulled me out to the flooring near the side of the pack, where we had greater room to dance and pass about. The music they have been enjoying was once extraordinarily catchy and effortless to dance to, and twirled me around, then delivered me tight to him as we danced shut together. I laughed and slung my palms around his neck. Then he dipped me and I laughed harder. Most of the D-Bags songs had been fast, but and I had been relaxed with each other and danced together easily.
Occasionally, I would look up at the group onstage. Kellan would gently keep time to the tune with his body as he smiled flirtatiously via his words. He was captivating to watch and I determined myself doing it extra and extra often as the night went on. While observing the way his body swayed whilst he sang, I came about to be aware Griffin seem to be over at Matt suddenly, then scowl deeply. Somehow, without ever looking at him or missing a note on his guitar, Matt managed to flip him off, making and I snigger and Griffin roll his eyes. Evan watched over the group, slowly shaking his head and laughing as well. Kellan didn't seem to witness the exchange, or he was once just ignoring it, his eyes focused on the adoring crowd instead.
For some of the songs, Kellan would select up his guitar and play along with Matt. His guitar wasn't amplified like Matt's, and the specific sounds blended collectively nicely. He commenced off an intro to a slower music through himself, and I could not help however observe how precise he was on it, possibly as right as Matt. Most of the humans around the the front of the stage had been still cavorting and dancing, even although the tune used to be slower, however some of the couples near and I have been starting to slow dance.
pulled me close, slipping his fingers around my waist. He grinned at me goofily, in a way that I immensely loved, and pulled me tight towards him. I sighed fortunately and delivered my palms round his neck again. Running my fingers via his darkish hair, I gave him a gentle kiss. As the tune swelled and picked up intensity, I hugged him tight and laid my head on his shoulder, respiration in his wonderful, acquainted scent. Looking out over his shoulder, I watched Kellan on stage. He used to be smiling sweetly at me at some point of a damage in the vocals and I smiled back. Then he winked at me and I blinked in surprise. He laughed at that, discovering my response pretty amusing.
They performed one more fast-paced song after that, most of the couples going back to ordinary dancing, and I deciding on to remain locked together, smiling at every other and softly kissing. When that track finished, Kellan's speakme voice broke thru the noise of the crowd.
"Thank you for coming out tonight." He paused, waiting for the crowd's unexpected eruption of screams to die down. After a minute, he smiled charmingly and held up a finger. "I choose to take a 2nd to introduce you all to my new roommates."
His finger pointed right at and me. I blushed deeply and laughed, shifting to my side, his arms nevertheless around my waist. I seemed over at him, biting my lip and wishing we had left after the slow song. He grinned and kissed my cheek whilst Kellan informed the complete bar our names.
I buried my head in 's shoulder, mortified, while Kellan cheerily said, "Now, you may all be completely satisfied to comprehend that Askel is joining the comfortable little family here at Pete's, beginning Monday night." The crowd screamed again...I had no thought why, and I blushed even deeper and glared up at Kellan, wishing he would be quiet. He laughed at my look. "I desire you all to be first-class to her..." he seemed over to the D-Bag beside him who was once grinning indecently at me, "...especially you Griffin."
He stated good night to the crowd, that hollered but again, and then he sat down on the facet of the stage. My embarrassment fading, now that the attention was no longer focused on me, I concept to go up and inform him how incredible he was. It apparently wasn't essential though. Almost instantly, about 5 girls hovered round him. One delivered him a beer, one performed with his hair, and one even made herself quite comfortable on his lap. I'm exceedingly sure at some point I saw her lick his neck. After witnessing that, I figured he did not need any encouraging words from me, and I could just inform him some thing fine in the morning.
and I left soon after the band finished, and virtually stumbled to bed in our tiredness. I do not be aware of exactly when I heard Kellan get home, but it used to be lots later than us. So naturally, I was once enormously surprised when I groggily made my way down to the kitchen the next morning, and there he was, already sitting at the table, entirely dressed, searching annoyingly ideal whilst sipping his coffee and analyzing the paper.
"Mornin'," he said, a little too cheerfully.
"Uh," I spoke back grumpily. So, now not solely used to be he talented and ridiculously attractive, he used to be additionally one of these people who may want to run easily on very little sleep. That annoyed me a little.
