Chapter 4

White finally logged out of the computer and stared at his wristwatch. It was already 8pm. He couldn't believe he had worked this late. He sprung up from his chair and wore his jacket.

"Miss cleaner, let's leave already" he said. He didn't get any response so he turned and stared at her direction. He saw her sleeping like a baby on the couch. He frowned and walked towards her.

"Cleaner? Hey!" He called out but she didn't even wake up at all.

He saw the security guard walking around to check if there was anyone left in the company before locking it.

"I'm sorry sir" he said and turned to leave. He thought something was going on between him and Lily.

"Hold on" he stopped him. He turned and lowered his flashlight.

"Sir?"

White slipped his hand into his jacket pocket and grabbed his key. He threw it at him. The guard caught it and stared back at White.

"Get the car around. I'm heading downstairs now" he said.

"Yes sir" he replied and left quickly. White wondered how he was going to transport her to the car. He has never carried a girl before in his life. He gave a loud sigh and carried her phone and earphone. He slipped them into his pocket and carried Lily in his arm. He head out of his office and left the company.

Lily's parents were worried about their daughter. Her mother knew she was supposed to come early since she doesn't like working late. She was happy that her husband was here with her. He was also happy that she was getting better.

"Have you tried calling her phone?" Mrs Rose asked her husband.

"I tried but she's not answering the call" he replied getting worried already.

"I'm sure she's fine. Lily's not a child"

Her father sighed and leaned his body on the old couch, waiting for dinner.

White could feel Lily's phone vibrating in his pocket but he couldn't check it because he carried her in his arm. His mother sighted him from distance as he carried Lily up the stairs. That was something White would never do is his life. She fummed and folded her arms. She just couldn't get her eyes off her son.

"He has changed so much just because of that low life. You just wait and watch how I ruin her life and you'd do nothing about it" she thought to herself and left.

White took Lily to one of the rooms in the mansion and gently laid her on the bed. There was no how he would allow a girl in his own room. He took off her shoes and placed them beside the bed. He stared at her face which was covered with her hair. He drove the hair to the other side with his finger and covered her body. His mother had seen him with her. So, he has to lie about her also.

He walked to the door and turned back to stare at her. He scoffed and left, locking the door behind. He jingled the keys as he walked to his own room.

The first person he met in his room was his mother.

"Greetings mother" he said and started taking off his jacket after throwing Lily's room key on the table.

"White? We need to talk" Mrs Maybelline walked towards her son.

"About what mom? My girlfriend?" He asked.

"Who the hell is she? I brought you a beautiful and sassy girl but you rejected her and decided to go ahead with that low life..."

"Mother!" He growled angrily. Mrs Maybelline shot her eyes wide open. His son just yelled at him.

"What?" She whispered. "You just yelled at me, huh? White?! You always listen to me and you do whatever I say. What has come over you? Is she a witch? Did she by any chance charm you? Huh?" She grabbed his shoulder and shook him.

"Mom, I'm fine. Just don't try to control me. I have my own life to live also. And as for Lucy Princeton, I can't hang out with her because I have a girlfriend already and I love her so much. We can end up getting married" he had to make all of that say so his mother won't pester him with Lucy but it wasn't working.

"You won't get married to that girl but Lucy"

"Don't dare me mom. I'll be in the shower now" he walked away from her and went to the bathroom. He was talking about a girl that he doesn't even know her name. As he closed the door, he heard his mother's departing footsteps, followed by his door closing. He smirked and turned on the shower and had a long bath. He went to bed straight without eating anything.

The next morning, Lily woke up and found herself in a strange room. At first, she thought she was kidn*pped because her phone wasn't with her and the door was locked from behind. She started to bang the door hard.

"Let me out of here! Who's there?!" She yelled. She placed her ear on the door to pick up any sound from the outside. It was silent at first before she heard footsteps approaching. She moved away from the door and slipped her fingers into her hair. She was going to be late for class. She didn't even know what time it is. The door flicker and threw open as White walked in wearing a white suit with black shirt.

"Did you kidnap me?"

"What would you gain if I do?" He asked, walking close to her.

"I should be asking you that. Why did you keep me here?" She asked in reply, moving away from her.

"I should have taken you home when you fell asleep but your record is not in the company's file. You are not a cleaner in the company, are you?" He asked. She lowered her gaze and blinked repeatedly. Her back suddenly hit the wall. No way for her to leave anymore.

"I don't know what you are talking about. I'm a cleaner and..."

He angrily banged the wall beside her.

"Don't you dare lie to me!" He yelled.

She closed her eyes. For some seconds, she thought he was going to hit her. She started breathing hard, like she has been running.

"Who are you?" He asked her.

"I'm Lily, Lily Andrew. Please don't fire my mom. She's sick and that's why I had to fill in for her yesterday. I'm not a cleaner at the company" she said too quickly. He removed his hand from the wall and took two steps away from her.

"That's the truth I wanted to hear not your silly lies. I'm not stupid you know" he said.

"Please, I have to go. I'll be late for class" she said and wanted to leave but the door was locked again. She stared at the door for some seconds and turned back to White.

"What do you want from me?"

"I'll let you leave after some certain condition" he said. She lowered her gaze and played with her finger.

"What do you want?" She asked. He smirked.

White majestically walked towards her window and stared outside the mansion.

"You are fully aware of what happened yesterday. I lied that you were my girlfriend"

"Yeah?" She added.

"The lie has to continue. You'll have to be my fake girlfriend and don't worry about it, it's a paid job" he replied. Lily chuckle and shoved her hair to the back of her ear.

"I have no idea what you are saying. I can't be your girlfriend and I won't"

"I know. That's why I said FAKE girlfriend" he said.

"I'm sorry, I still can't" she folded her arms. White walked to her quickly and grabbed her neck. He doesn't intend to choke her or kill her. He just wanted to instill fear in her.

"You have no idea what I can do to anyone who rejects my offer. I can start from your mother, you know?" He said. She shot her eye wide open and stared at him.

"No, you won't" she replied.

"Is that a challenge?" He asked.

"I won't..." She stopped when she heard her ringing tone in her pocket.

"My phone" she muttered, staring low at her pocket.

"Meet me at the company by 4pm. If you are a minute late, I'll punish you for that"

"Let me have my phone" she said again.

He brought out her phone and saw that the caller ID was her mother.

He handed the phone to her and stepped out of the room. He wasn't interested in her family's business.

"Lily? Lily, where are you?" Her mother's voice trembled.

"I'm fine mother, I'll be home soon" she replied.

"Your father..." Her mother started to sob. Lily knew that something was wrong somewhere.

"What happened to him?" She asked.

"He was taken away this morning" the sob turned to a loud wail. Lily still didn't understand what her mother was saying.

"Mom, talk to me. What really happened?" She asked.

"He was arrested by the cops" her mother finally admitted. Lily gasped and closed her mouth in surprise.
