Unexpected events sometimes leads to abrupt ending, but that's only the beginning of something else...
By now the owner's wound has been bandaged and I pay him a heavy sum of money to settle things. Angelina has also been taken inside. My head starts paining and I badly need a medicine. Walking out of the Bakery, I attend a call and Adam signals me that he is going to the nearby store to buy me a medicine. I wave to him it's ok and continue my conversation over the phone. I carelessly walk behind the Bakery when I witness an unexpected scene. I see Donald throwing away Angelina out of the Bakery but what he tells her really shocks me.
" I thought I could use you to make some money but you are simply useless. Now get lost. And you won't get a dime of your salary, it's the rent you didn't pay for staying at my Bakery for the last one month." Saying so he slams the door on her face. Angelina doesn't say a word. By now it again starts drizzling. She quietly looks up at the sky, heaves a sigh, takes out a raincoat from her backpack, wears it on and briskly walks away.
After some more time I end my call, Adam also arrives with my medicine and after taking it we both hop into my car.
Adam, let him introduce him. He is not only my assistant but also my relative. Adam is my mother's step brother, but as he is only four years older to me we are very close. But apart from all these connections the most important thing is that he is my SHADOW.
The word 'shadow' was first brought into use by my grandfather for his bodyguard, advisor and friend Jonathan Gray who is also my maternal grandfather. Jonathan was a native and belonged to a tribe famous for martial arts. The people of this tribe excelled in attacking the enemies without revealing themselves. Once Jonathan got caught by his enemies when he ran out to buy medicine for my ailing grandmother. He was tortured for four days but when they were about to kill him in the woods my grandfather, Lord George Hewitt shot the enemies and saved his life. When Jonathan returned home, my grandmother had already died leaving behind a newborn girl, my mother. He coldly looked at the child, gave it to his mother to look after and followed Lord George Hewitt pledging to be his body guard lifelong for saving his life. It was a fresh start for him. As days passed their friendship grew stronger and both were inseparable. Numerous times he had saved the life of Lord George Hewitt. After a few years he remarried and his new family and relatives have become the Shadow of the Lord's and so Adam is my Shadow. Even though Adam isn't as sharp and intelligent as his father and elder brother, I adore him and we have a great bonding.
As I think about my bonding with Adam, he suddenly says, " We have to go back to the bar. I didn't check if there was a CCTV. We can't let out any scandal. You are already in a bad light for not attending the marriage ceremony, now something more will simply trigger the anger of your grandpa."
Saying so, he heads towards the bar.
