Alex "I WANT YOU TO MARRY ME." The words came out of my mouth, and I was sure she wasn't expecting it. But I needed her, my dad was on my neck already. Maybe faith brought her to me so she could help me with this. I would definitely pay her. I just needed her to agree, it's the only thing she could do for me. I looked at her and saw her expression, she looked shocked, she said nothing and I decided to continue. "It'll be a contract marriage, I'll pay you, any amount you want. You just have to be my pretend wife for six months, go out with me, meets my family. To the world we are a couple, but inside, to us, I'm your employer and you are my employee." I said, rubbing my hands together, I needed her to say yes, I had worked too hard for the company to lose it all because of marriage. I really wish I want in this position but I am and I need her. "Look, my father, he's he's been on my neck for months. He wants me to get married before the year runs out and if I do not. He'll take everything, the company, everything which I can't let happen." I tried convincing but she looked lost, she just attend at me lips parted, eyes wide, confusion clearly written on her face, only God knew what she was thinking. I could almost hear her thought. What did he say? "W wait, you want me to be your pretend wife?" You barely even know me." She said coming back to life, blinking fast. "I know, wish we'll get to do once you say yes. You're the only one I know right now, who won't use it against me, becaus I helped you when I could've just left jare out there." I said pushing harder, try to make her remember why she she should help me. "I'll pay you well, you have won't lack anything, no harm will befall you, you'll get maximum protection." I said calmly but persistently. "I don't know, my parents, I don't think they'll like the idea, I'm too young, just 24, I don't have a clue how to live in your world." She said. I ran my hand through my hair, let out a sigh. "Look Precious, I get it, you're scared, if I were you I will be too. But it's just six months, think of it like a job offer, after six months you could walk away with me enough money for a life time. It will be a loveless marriage, we wouldn't have to consumate it, you would owe me nothing here. Think of it like paying for how I assisted you the other night." She looked at her finger, I could see that she was battling with herself. "I get that you don't know me and nor do I, but we will," I said quietly. "I'm not asking you to fall in love with me or pretend to be happy with me." I sighed sitting straight. "All I need is for you to help me with this, help me get through this." Silence filled the room, neither of us said anything, we just kept still. I looked at her, hoping that she would agree to help me with this. "Why me." I heared her say. "You could have any lady you wan, someone from your world, I know nothing of your world." "Like I said, I know you wouldn't use it against me. Because you're the only one who doesn't want anything from me, you didn't ask for anything, didn't try to impress me. I need someone who won't complicate things and that person is you. You're real and that is what I need right now." I said trying to explain things to her without sounding sympathetic. "And as for your parents, I could talk to them, send them money, whatever you would have me do, I really need you right now." "This isn't a small thing, you make it sound so easy which isn't." She said softly. I could hear my father's voice in my head "get married or I take everything from you, you need to be stable I need to know that I'm leaving this to someone with responsibilities and who knows what he's doing, someone who won't waste money on women, drugs and alcohol, someone who won't jeopardize the company." My father knows I'm many things, but a drunk or womanizer, he only said those things to rile me up, which did and I know he meant it when he said he was going to take everything from me. I won't let him win, not this time. This lady seating in front of me was my only hope. Precious. My only shot and I needed her more than she could ever know. "Can I think about it?" She asked finally, her voice soft and low "Of course." I said standing, you don't have to give me an answer this night. You could give me tomorrow when I'm back from work." I said, giving her time and letting her know that the ball was in her court. I smiled at her but she didn't, she stood up and left for her room. I sat back on the couch. I really hope she agrees, I need her. I can't loose what I spent my whole life working for. I stood up and went to my room, I still had work to do on my laptop but I was too tired to care I needed to sleep. I freshened up and went to bed thinking. I drifted to sleep thinking of her. I really hope she gives me a good response by tomorrow ending. Faith brought her to me, at the perfect time, knowing what that I needed someone. There wasn't any body perfect for this role except her, I been on the lookout and everyone I met didn't match what I wanted. But she did. She had nothing to lose but everything to gain. I really hoped she would agree to this arrangement and everything will outline come to place
