Chapter 61

1672 Words
"Even if I wanted to help, how the hell would I get out of here, I'm not like you, to just step out of the house whenever I feel like going, I need to ask my aunt and cousin, and knowing they'll probably say no, I might as well stay here." said Afreen as Khayun sighs. "Then create a decoy, make them think you're inside, while you come up with a way to jump out of the house, you're a Jinn, keep that in mind." said Khayun. "How in the world will I be able to do that? only jinn stuff I ever did was throwing flameballs out of my hand, not to mention, I had to come up with a huge excuse with my family to tell how a lighting was the one that actually did it." said Afreen. "Look, I understand this must be hard, but you need to do this, for Tim, if you don't, he'll lose the house." said Khayun. "Don't you mean you'll lose the house, and by the way, instead of telling me, why not inform him to fix his own damm problem, where is he?" asked Afreen. "It's complicated, I'll ask you this one more time, can you, or can't?" asked Khayun. "I wish I could do something to help, but I.. (hears call ended tone) hello? Hello, Kai?" asked Afreen as she checks to see Khayun had already ended the phone. "Great, now what?" asked Afreen looking at the clock when suddenly she gets a message alert, forwarding the location of where Tim was supposed to go. "I'm sorry Tim, I can't, I hope you understand." said Afreen as she turns away, and looks towards the mirror. Feeling the emotion of depravity and guilt, a tingling sensation of her power kicks back on, as the invisible flame almost goes to enrage out of her eyes, which quickly turns away as her brother starts knocking. "Hello? Af? you in here?" asked Ali. "Yeah, uhm.. come in." said Afreen to which Ali steps forward. "Hey." said Ali. "Hey." said Afreen. "So, how are you holding up?" asked Ali. "Me? I'm fine, as usual, how is Madhat?" asked Afreen. "Still pretty shaken up, I guess she must have seen you when you were uhm.." said Ali. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't..." said Afreen. "Hey, it's not your fault, okay? what happened, was meant to have happened, there was nothing we can do about it, now that it is past." said Ali. Yeah, I guess, you might be right." said Afreen. "So, Nailah's mom asked if you wanted to join lunch together, or have your meals sent here?" asked Ali. "Thank you Ali, but I'll take a pass, I'm not feeling hungry today." said Afreen. "I see, well, that makes the two of us then." said Ali. "Wait, you didn't eat too? why?" asked Afreen. "I.. I don't know, usually I take in whatever I could find, but right now, it feels.." said Ali. "Tired, isn't it? we should have never come here, I'm sorry to have dragged you with me." said Afreen. "Hey, again, not your fault, you could have never known this much stuff would actually happen, and given recent events, I say let's just forget about the past and uhm.. there is something I wanna tell you, which I wasn't allowed to tell but.." said Ali. "What do you mean?" asked Afreen. "Remember that day? when you were reacting like that, I was scared and confused, I didn't know what to do, then suddenly I saw your phone nearby, and.. I don't know, I just took the phone started calling." said Ali. "Called who?" asked Afreen. "Timothy Blake, your crush, I take it? didn't really expect him to get show up in our house within a hour of sending him the location but he.." said Ali. "Wait, Tim came here, to our house before? I mean, he came?" asked Afreen. "Yep, in fact, he was the one that helped you I think, he thanked me for informing sooner, it's just.. I thought you wanna know." said Ali. "Yeah, I do, thank you Ali." said Afreen. "Yeah sure.. get some rest okay? I'll have the meals reserved in the fridge just in case you feel hungry." said Ali. "Where would I be, without my sweet little brother?" asked Afreen with a smile. "Don't call me sweet, that's a order." said Ali as he departs with a smile once he shuts back the door. "Shit.. damnit man.." said Afreen looking back at the location popped up in the phone. "I guess I owe you one." said Afreen as she takes back the phone and observes where exactly this location pinpoints to, and catches an exact point on it. "Okay, I'm a Jinn right? I could blow up a well grown tree, but how.." said Afreen as she pauses and glimpses of a idea just as she looks towards the mirror to which she approaches close, drawing into her power to which her hands and eyes burn in invisible flame and just as she lands it within the mirror, it passes through, creating a symbolic pathway between the reflection of two as to which she moves through it and catches her own hand of her reflection. "No, freaking way." said Afreen who then realises on how Khayun suggested a decoy to which she immediately pulls out the hand opposite way, and the mirrored reflection of herself emerges away from the mirror and onto the real world her standing shocked. "It looks, just like me." said Afreen while her mirror reflects her exact words to which she presses her hand on the mirrored self's forehead just as her mirrored too presses on hers. Soon they begin drawing in within their power as a aura of invisible flame of aura surrounds them both, until it fades away when suddenly Afreen's mirrored self gets freed from having reflected what her real self has to do, and opens her eyes before she does. Just as the real Afreen opens her eyes, she finds a bit stirred to see herself looking back at her without sharing her own reflection which scares her at first, but soon finds fascinated by it. "Smile." said Afreen to which her mirrored self smiles, almost like she was obliged to do whatever she wishes. "Now this is what I call a decoy, okay, until I return, pretend to me." said Afreen towards her mirrored self to which she doesn't respond at first, but within a second, a act of strangeness fades away as she sighs and walks towards the bed as the real Afreen would have done while the real one is staring at her in blank shock. "Okay, now all I have to do is just stay, wait.. shouldn't you be leaving?" asked the mirrored Afreen. "I should, I just..." said Afreen. "Don't worry about it, I got this, okay, use the window and get out before they see the two of us together." said the mirrored Afreen. "Huh? yeah, you're right, wow, okay, I'll be going, good luck, uhm.. just a quick doubt." said Afreen. "Sure, do tell." said the mirrored Afreen. "You're not gonna try and take over my life or something, are you? because this is the part where I think I found a answer to my question, but then we realise it isn't when you turn your back on me." said Afreen to which her mirrored self chuckles. "God, it does feel weird talking to myself, but for clarification, I am you, okay? a mirrored reflection which you grabbed from that mirror over there, I can't last forever, not to mention that, if I turn evil, all I would do, is find a way to prank Ali into falling, other than that, you have nothing to worry, besides, I only exist as long as you do, once you're.. you know, dead, I'll be gone too." said the mirrored Afreen. "Wow, how do you know so much?" asked Afreen. "I'm you, the subconscious part, I know stuff, now get going, you don't have alot of time." said the mirrored Afreen as she tosses her phone back to her. "Thank you, good luck." said the real Afreen as he heads towards the opened window and jumps into the balcony where she looks below. "Just going with the flow, that's it, you can do this." said Afreen as she draws into her power further, changing her abominable appearance onto a large vessel of invisible flame which starts to move through the air, almost like how Khayun moved using his dark cloud of appearance. Unknowingly, without having catched even a pair of direction of which way to go, she is fixated on her mind on where she wants to end at, given how she looked at a fixed point at the location and let's go as her powers take her to the exact point. Soon, she releases herself of the power, returning onto her normal self as she opens her eyes, only to find her at the exact point of destination where she was supposed to head, the lake house. "I can't believe it, wow." said Afreen as she looks around to see no one nearby had spotted, which adds as a advantage as she proceeds towards the lake house entrance which looks very similar to be a haunted one, with yard not cleaned for ages, and the tone of the house itself, holding out a dark appearance as she enters. "Okay, keep it cool, just a scientific research, that's all, that's.. oh, wow." said Afreen as she stares at the amazing car in which the doctor she was supposed to meet had arrived. "Rich doctor huh? cool, if only I was allowed to drive that." said Afreen as she proceeds towards the entrance where she rings the doorbell once, only to get no reply, except a strange whistle of sound that emerges as the wind blows, quite roughly at the exact point she rang the bell.
