Turn Me Loose!

I woke up a few hours later curled up in the backseat with a blanket over me, my hands poorly zip tied, and the bag that was over my head on the floor, I groaned. “Don't worry sweetheart, we'll be home soon.” I inhaled sharply, finally recognizing the voice and sat up. I immediately slumped right back down with a groan, my head woozy. “Careful, Chocolate Angel, the medicine hasn’t fully worn off yet.” Nathan said “Screw you and your medicine! I'm not going anywhere with you!” I kicked the back of his seat. “PULL OVER!” I kicked his seat again. “I'm afraid I can't do that sweetheart.” I growled at him, my eyes aflame with fury. “Sean is gonna find us. And he's gonna kill you. That's if I don't kill you first.” I reached up and smacked his head. All I heard in response was a growl and an unintelligible mumble.  “You better lay back down before I do something we both regret.” He said darkly. I laid back down and turned on my side, I felt something dig into my breast. What was that? My mind was a little drowsy from the alcohol and whatever drug Nathan gave me. My phone! I needed to get somewhere he wouldn't notice... I looked down and slowly slid onto the floor,  my back facing the front seats.   “What are you doing?” I made soft snoring noises and held still. “Awe...so cute” I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone. Dumb ass zip tied me in a way I can still grab things. I had so many missed calls. From Sean, Tanya, and Marcia. Worried messages asking where I was, if I was okay.  Tanya said that Sean was worried sick about me. Marcia told me that they went to the police and they said they wouldn't look for me and that they had to wait 48 hours to report me missing. Lazy ass policemen. I turned on my Text-to-911 and sent them a text: Help! kidnapped girl. still have phone. Find me. Save me. Nothing... So then, I texted Sean. Sean, I'm fine. He drugged me, knocked me out. was in too much hurry to check me. I had to text haltingly since I had no idea when Nathan would actually take a good look at me. Luckily, the answer was immediate. Oh my god baby, you're okay! Where are you? I’ve been driving all night trying to find you...but I don't know what the car looks like...so I'm lost...I'm so sorry I didn't get there in time… I almost cried… Baby, it's fine. You did your best… I moved off the text app to open google maps and turn on my location. Where is he taking me? I screenshot the location right when Sean sent his next text Kat, where are you? I quickly sent the screenshot with the caption Know where this is? His answer took a while and I got a little antsy. No, but I swear to you. I'll find it. I’m headed that way now. I promise… The car slowed to a stop and the engine turned off. I screenshot my location again and set it off to Sean with a caption of Gotta go. We stopped. Hurry. I love you. Then shoved my phone into my bra. I felt it vibrate as I hurriedly laid my head back and closed my eyes, relaxing my face. “Awe, she’s still asleep…” Nathan said as I tried hard to keep my face neutral but it didn’t work so I groaned and opened my eyes, glaring at him. I feigned being woken up and held up my middle finger. “Easy dear, it’s not that time yet.” He said, I froze, “I need to go buy rope to tie you up.” he mumbled. “Stay here, I have the alarm on, if you leave I’m shooting you.” I nodded, my head down. He smiled and walked inside the Home Depot that I just noticed. I needed to act fast. I waited until he was inside then jumped up, reaching in the front and grabbing my purse. I quickly sat back and pulled on my door. Crap! Child lock! So I unlocked the windows and let mine down. Thank god, he still has this old beat up car with crank windows. Soon, I was falling unceremoniously out of the car and crouched down next to it with a grunt of pain. I pulled my phone out and called Sean.  “Katania! Baby, are you okay?” “I’m fine I snuck out the car.” I crouch walked behind the car and snapped a picture of the license plate, and sent it to him. “We are at the back of a Home Depot. I’m gonna hide on the side until you get here”  I quickly ran around the building, slightly out of breath when I heard a laugh of relief. “What?” “I think you are at the one I’m about to pass.” “Do you see a green car with its window rolled down by the delivery port? How did you get her so soon?” There was a pause as he looked around. “Yea. And I might have sped like a mad man” I grinned. “Oh my god, baby! You found me!” I ended the call and ran back around the building and towards our blue car as he got out. But right as I was close to Sean, I heard something that made me freeze. “Hey! What are you doing out of the car?!” I turned around to see Nate reaching for his waist. “NO!” Sean quickly bolted to the trunk and popped it, then he hefted out a gun that to me was huge. He jumped in front of me and aimed the gun at Nathan in a way that I saw the name, Tavor Tar 21. Nathan’s eyes widened and he dropped his gun, got in his car and drove off. Sean slumped against the car, slowly letting the gun fall from his fingers to gently hit the ground next to him. I stood in front of him, watching him worriedly. His arms soon wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer, his eyes closed. He breathed in deeply and let out a big sigh. “Thank god, you're alright…”  “Baby, I know you are tired, but we have to go…” I looked up at the people, stopping and staring, a couple with phones to their ears. I slipped out of his hold and picked up the Tavor carefully, and put it in the trunk, back in it’s safe box. I walked back over to Sean and helped him into the passenger side of the car before jogging to the driver side and pulling the still running car out of the lot. “You look exhausted, baby.” I said looking over at him. He glanced over at me and nodded. “Go to sleep. I'll drive us home.” He closed his eyes and his head soon fell to the side as I drove down the highway back to our house. While I drove back I couldn’t help but think back to Home Depot, where did Sean get that gun and why didn’t I know about it? Unfortunately, I doubt I’d be able to talk to him about it soon. I pulled into our driveway to see the living room window busted. I didn't want to wake Sean so I went and opened the door by myself and walked to the window. Yeah, dumb, I know. There I saw a brick with paper that read : This isn't over. I'm coming back for you.   I dropped the brick and sprinted back outside, opening the passenger door, I kneeled next to the car and gently rubbed Sean's arm.  “Sean, wake up.” He groaned and opened his eyes, looking around confused.  “What is it?” He said sitting up when he noticed my widened eyes. “Baby, what's wrong?”  “He broke the window...we can't stay here. He is coming back for me…” My eyes watered and he grabbed me and pulled me close to him, his face in my hair as he stroked my back. “We'll leave. Get this window fixed and get new security for the house. We are going on break soon, right?” I nodded, “We are leaving a couple days early. I'll pack our stuff. You call it in.” I bite my lip for a while and then I nod.  “Okay, but my phone is dead.” I said. He then stood up, pulling me with him and pulled out his phone then handed it to me before going in the house. I closed the car door and slowly followed after him while dialing the police and telling them of the situation. Then I called the college and told them we were leaving two days before break started to go out of town.         They offered to email us our work and I happily agreed. The Dean’s secretary loved me and told me she would alert our professors to get our work for the next couple days ready and to call her if we are gonna be late coming back.    I told her honestly that I hoped not. But I had a feeling we were because he wouldn't stop. He wouldn't stop until he was dead. It was hard to think that, knowing that I loved him once. But he had lost his mind, I couldn’t stand being around him anymore. I slid Sean's phone in the back pocket of my jeans and walked into our bedroom. He was zipping up two suitcases, a third empty one next to the bed. I picked it up, put it on the bed and put the rest of the clothes in the dresser in there, throwing toiletries, mine and his, on top and zipped it closed. I felt something slide out of my pocket and saw Sean holding his phone. I smiled at him slightly before pulling the suitcase off the bed, then pulled another off and started rolling them towards the door while he called someone to fix our windows. By the time I got back inside the house he was just getting off the phone with someone to get us a better security system.  He looked up at me and smiled as he pulled the other suitcase down and walked it over to me before walking back in and pulling a wooden board out of the closet along with a hammer and some nails. I looked at him curiously as he came outside and put it against the window and proceeded to nail the board to the broken window before taking the hammer back in. Not knowing what to do, I tossed the last suitcase into the trunk and closed it, before walking into the house. I saw him lock our bedroom door with a key before he walked towards me briskly and grabbed my hand, pulling me out the door. He turned to close and lock it before walking me to the passenger side. Before I could open my mouth to protest he had given me a look and walked to the driver side, and got in. Soon the car was started and we were pulling out of the driveway.
