It wasn’t easy to find some privacy when there were constantly other people around so I was happy when the other five beds in the shared dorm were empty. I assumed people had already left for dinner but I wasn’t hungry yet.
I sat on my bed, a pillow wedged between me and the wall so I could sit up straight. I didn’t know how long I’d be alone so I didn’t want to waste any time.
A brief bout of nerves flitted through me as my phone tried to connect to Felicity’s. I never enjoyed video calling during my past long-distance relationship and I couldn’t help but worry that it was going to be just as awkward and ruin whatever was going on between us.
The video connected and the back of Felicity’s head appeared on the screen.
