The palace was still in tension as Prince Arthur still lay unconscious in his chamber.
The best palace physicians had tried everything, but nothing worked. Panic spread through the servants, soldiers, council members, and even to the people of the kingdom.
In the dungeon, Daniel sat quietly, thinking and getting worried about Arthur’s condition. She had not slept. She had not eaten. Her heart felt heavy with fear and guilt, even though she knew she was innocent.
Suddenly, the dungeon doors opened.
Two guards entered and ordered her to follow them. “It is time for you to be judged and sentenced to death. Now move.”
Daniel’s heart beat fast as she was taken back to the council hall.
