Chapter 89: Arthur's Delirious Confession

1307 Words

Arthur’s POV The fever came back stronger than before. I thought I was already recovering. The poison had been removed from my body, and the physicians assured me I was safe. But that night, my body burned again as if I were still fighting for my life. My skin felt hot. My thoughts became unclear. And the only thing I could see blurry was Daniel. She sat beside my bed, holding a wet cloth to my forehead. Her touch was gentle. Her face looked worried, but calm. I reached for her without thinking. “Daniel…” My voice sounded weak, almost like a child’s. I did not want her to leave my side. My fingers found her wrist and held on tightly. I felt afraid that if I let go, she would disappear. “Daniel…” I whispered again. She leaned closer immediately. “I am here,” she said softly.
