Daniel’s POV The festival began with sound of Laughter and Music. The soft clash of jewelry. The rustle of expensive robes brushing against marble floors. I stood behind a carved pillar near the servants’ passage, watching the grand hall fill until it felt like the whole kingdom had poured inside. Nobles arrived in colors so rich they almost hurt my eyes—some deep reds, some royal blues, some shining gold threads sewn into fabric I could never afford in my old life.
