The corridors of the palace felt unusually cold as I strode back to my chambers. Every footstep echoed through the stone halls, but inside, it was the turmoil in my mind that made my chest tight. I had kissed her—Daniel—and yet, the moment lingered in my mind far longer than I should allow.
