Chapter 35When I saw the night hag in my bed, her black hair streaming out across the blankets like the mold that had crawled up the walls, I did my best to remain calm. This was my chance. If I could drain her energy now I might weaken her enough to do away with her for good. It seemed too easy. I looked around the room, but other than the painting of the penguins, the mold growing up the wall from the bed, and the static display on the computer, everything looked normal. I expected her to do something. To attack or cause something else to happen but she just lay there unmoving. But not silent. No, I could hear her breathing. It sounded harsh and labored as if she was struggling to keep breathing while sleeping. It didn't matter. I needed to stop her. I concentrated on my own breathing
