Chapter Twenty-ThreeJ'Tull's hands slid over the surface of the tube, pulled toward the edge by the weight of her body. As she fought to overcome gravity and drag herself up, the sound of the approaching sled drew closer. Whether she slid off or was pushed off by the sled, she knew that she would fall in a matter of seconds. She knew something else, too. This time, there was nothing below to break her fall.
