CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED Suleyman and Davud raced through the corridors of Topkapi with several black eunuchs at their heels. They stumbled frantically through the torch lit gloom. They stopped momentarily at the door to the harem. “Wait in my suite. I will return as quickly as I am able with any news,” Suleyman whispered urgently, squeezing Davud’s shoulder. Davud shuddered and openly sobbed as Suleyman disappear through the door and down the Golden Way. He slumped against the wall and held a trembling hand to his mouth.
