ANGELA’S POV Thump. Thump. Thump. My heart pounded louder than the low roar of the black Mercedes’ engine. The tinted windows turned the world outside into shadows, and the fine leather seat felt like ice against my bare thighs. But none of that compared to the knot of dread in my stomach when Dog handed me a blindfold. “Precaution,” he said flatly. Wherever we were going, I wasn’t allowed to see the route. The drive felt endless. No radio. No conversation. Just the heavy silence and the growing weight of what I had agreed to do. My breath caught when the car finally rolled to a smooth stop.
