"Sir, this contract is all over the place. The demands are unreasonable and the terms are unrealistic. This looks like it was put together in a rush thinking that you were just going to sign it without reading it." I broke the long standing silence. I felt like I was going to go crazy because all I ever heard was the clicking of the keys on the laptop. Nick didn't look up or acknowledge my tirades for what seemed like an eternity.
It has been more than a month or so that I continued this new practice ever since the first time I stood outside his front door.
Every night, I would drop by his place and discuss contracts and travel plans because he was rarely in the office to allow me to complete my work.
I would walk over to his place and whether or not he was home, I'd let myself in and tidy up the place a bit and start going over the pile of contracts I brought home with me.
This was a refreshing change. It kept my mind off the other stuff that's going on in my personal life. For some weird reason, I like moving around his place. He's place is unusually clean and tidy on days when he's out of the country for travel. When he's around though, it can be a bit messy with clothes laying on the floor and dishes left in the sink. It felt like it was part of my contract to keep dropping by his to place to make sure that his place remains spotless when he's home. I constantly remind myself that there's nothing wrong with what I was doing as the regular visits are strictly work related.
I was snapped back from my thoughts when I hear Nick sigh and stood up to walk over the windows of his living room.
"Are you okay sir?" I asked curiously.
Nick moved to the side of the room where his minibar is and poured himself a glass of brandy. He was stirring the rich burgundy liquid and was deep in thought.
"Mr. Bradshaw?" I whispered.
Nick raised his head and looked at me with those sexy green eyes. I still feel the warm sensation every time we look at each other. It feels really uncomfortable now as the warm sensation decided to settle in my belly more often than it should.
"What are you doing Bella?" He asked emotionless.
"Sir?"
"What are you doing? Why do you keep dropping by even after work hours are done?" Nick asked with a more forceful tone.
"I'm sorry. I'll leave now." I started to arrange the papers on the table and started stuffing my things in my bag. I turned off my laptop and stood up.
In a few strides, Nick was standing in front of me. He looked me straight in the eyes and sipped a drink from his glass. "I'm not asking you to leave. I'm just curious why you suddenly developed this habit of coming around even though you don't need to."
It shook me to the core being this close to him. It felt like an electric current kept hitting me in all places and made my knees weak. I needed to step back. I needed to to put some distance between us. At this point, my legs felt frozen and I couldn't move! Damn you weak legs!
I cleared my throat and looked away as I spoke because I'd be so embarrassed if he saw what was going on in my head through my eyes. "I just needed to be preoccupied sir. That's all." It was the truth. I needed to spend more time away from my apartment because it felt like at any time, Aaron or Sandy might barge in. I particularly didn't want to confront those people just yet. I wasn't ready. I don't know if I'll ever be ready.
He sighed. "Don't you have anything else to do? Go out and have fun! Go meet your friends and shop or have dinner with your family,"
My eyes started to feel itchy. The memories of what happened more than a month ago came flooding back. I kept these emotions hidden because I wasn't ready to deal with the pain yet.
I shifted my gaze back to him. The tears were on the verge of falling and I spoke to him softly. "I'll stop coming by sir. I'm sorry for intruding." I picked up my stuff and took a step back.
He reached out and grabbed my wrist to stop me from moving away.
"I didn't ask you to leave Bella. I was just curios as to why you spend most of your time buried at work. You're young and beautiful. You should be out there enjoying your life." He gently tugged me back down so that I can sit back on the sofa.
Wait! What? Did he just say I was beautiful? I stared back at him and tried to make sense of what he said.
He chuckled. "I don't know whether you're about to cry or about to faint."
"I'm sorry Mr. Bradshaw. Truly, I didn't mean to intrude. I'm grateful that you accommodated me this far. There's just been a lot that's been going on and I guess I wanted to be busy and push the distractions aside." I rambled hoping I made sense.
At this point, Nick was unconsciously tracing light circles on my wrist while intently listening to my rants. Oh God! I hope he doesn't notice the havoc he's doing inside of me at this moment.
He quickly let go of me and took another sip from his glass as if deep in thought.
"It's not my place to pry and I don't really give a f**k what's going on with you outside of work but if you're in my time, you're mine." He said nonchalant but with such fierceness in his eyes that it made me tremble a bit.
I cleared my throat and broke away from his gaze. I was feeling a little bit woozy and wanted to put some distance between us.
"Mr. Bradshaw, I should get going. I'll see you tomorrow in the office." I got up and gathered my things and started to head out for the door. I walked towards the counter to place the reviewed contracts for his signature.
I don't know how it happened because everything happened so fast.
Nick was quickly behind me, grabbed my arm and turned me around. He roughly pulled me close to him.
"I'm going to kiss you now Bella." He whispered and I could feel his breath drawing closer and his lips lowering to mine. At that moment, I felt like I could melt into his arms as I eagerly waited for our lips to touch.
Breathlessly I said, "Please."
It was shameless I know. At that moment I didn't care. I wanted to feel the warmth of kissing someone again. I wanted to feel things I haven't felt for a long time ever since Aaron left me. I wanted to show Aaron that I could easily move on and that I can have any man I want without so much a care of what others thought.
Nick's lips crushed into mine. His lips opening to reveal the movement of his tongue on my lips as if encouraging me to open my mouth. Instinctively I opened my mouth to welcome his sweet tongue and met him half way with mine. I clutched his shirt tighter as if holding for dear life. The kiss became more demanding and sweet at the same time. I let out a small whimper as his kisses made me want more. He moaned between our lips and the kisses became hungrier. He pulled my body closer to him as if he wanted to merge our bodies into one. His tongue moving in and out of my mouth in a sensual yet forceful motion as he lifted me effortlessly on the counter.
I wrapped my legs around him as if trying to keep our bodies intertwined. I felt desperate and wanting more. Nick traced his hand up and down my thighs and traveled to the button of my jeans. His lips traveled to my earlobe and he was slowly tracing it with his playful tongue. My hands now gripped his backside and drew him closer to me. The sensations, the hunger and the need to be closer was unbelievable!
As he unzipped my jeans and hungrily inserted his hands in my pants, he traced my underwear and lightly touched my erected c**t. I inhaled sharply as I tightened my hold on him.
"Easy baby." He whispered in my ear.
He drew his hand away from my pants and took a step back. I felt disappointed as I looked at his eyes that was full of lust.
He removed his shirt and made his way back. He grabbed my hair and pulled it gently from the back. I let out a small whimper and he started licking the side of my neck starting with the area just below my ear. As he left little trails of kisses to my neck, he moved lower and quickly unbuttoned my top to reveal my bra. Just as he was about to unhook my bra, someone buzzed on the door which made us jump apart startled.
"What the f**k!" He cursed under his breath. He quickly ran his hands through his hair as a sign of frustration while I quickly jumped off the counter.
Buzz.
There goes the buzzer again.
Nick took a moment to catch his breath and quickly walked over the door and opened it. I was trying to fix my hair and clothing pretending that everything that happened was make believe.
As I was picking up the papers that scattered on the floor, I heard a woman's voice greet Nick from the outside.
"Nick darling! I'm home!"
