Party's Over

"HEY! Whats going on in there?" Banging at the door startled Lily and Trent into straightening their clothes. Lily's cheeks burned with shame as she pulled her dress down. She had never done anything so wanton in her life. She couldn't look at Trent's face. She didn't want to think about the question he asked. He wasn't supposed to know. Lily was so lost in the moment, she forgot about the part she was supposed to play.       When they looked halfway decent Trent pushed the door open and blocked Lily from the anger of the bouncer that interrupted their love play. "Hey, she didn't feel well. Too much to drink. I rushed in here to help her. We're leaving don't worry," Trent smoothly replied. The bouncer looked unconvinced but stood there with crossed arms and a disapproving scowl. Trent reached back for Lily. He was a little surprised when she pushed his hand away but shuffled out of the bathroom quickly. " Trent! Where did you go dude? I've been looking everywhere for you!" Brian had obviously had too much to drink. Trent could smell it on his breath and noted the way Brian stumbled into his arms. The other guys were crowding around. Drinks long gone, looking ragged and tired. "Whoa, Brian! Someone is having too much fun. You ready to go?" Trent was itching to get back to Lily. They had a lot to talk about. "Buzz kill dude. Sun's coming up soon anyway. Whatever. Where did your vixen go? That girl was crazy hot." Trent's head immediately snapped around. His eyes searched frantically for Lily's sweet face. He could smell her cinnamon and cloves but it was fading. He followed the scent outside. Expecting to see her standing there on her phone. He was met with an empty parking lot.  Her scent abruptly stopped. Trent's heart dropped.      Who was she? He thought at best she was some slutty gold digger looking to have a fun night out. With Trent being who he was, he was accustomed to women throwing themselves at him. Sure he had good looks but most women wanted more. They craved security. He was a successful real estate developer and  North Carolina had a booming real estate market. Pair that with his werewolf genes, and he was irresistible. But this woman was different. She had tried to walk away from him. He had begged for her presence. Craved a taste of her.  It didn't make any sense. She wasn't a wolf, but he felt a strange energy coming from her. Now she was gone. What the hell was he going to do?     Lily was mortified leaving the women's bathroom. She couldn't be more grateful when Brian showed up as a distraction. She ran out the front doors of the club to cool down. Hoping no one would look down and notice her fluids leaking down her thighs.     "Need a ride?" Lily looked up into eyes that were a little darker green than hers. Eyes that she had known since birth.     "Sophia! Thank the Gods!" Lily ran to jump into the back of the black car that had pulled up to the curb. Two scowling faces turned and pinned her to the spot. Luckily, those faces belonged to her sisters, Sophia and Mara. The two women that loved her more than anything in the world.     "What the f**k was that? You were supposed to bring him out of the bar!" Sophia chastised. "Then you leave with him and don't even tell us where you're going!" Sophia was furious. "Sophia I'm sorry but please just go. I have to get away from him." "Lily, did he hurt you? Should we kill him for you?" Mara stared at Lily with concerned eyes. Totally serious about her offer. "No, no! Please, take me to the hotel and I'll tell you everything." Sophia pulled away minutes before a desperate wolf stalked out of the club.     Lily stepped out of the shower. She felt somewhat human again. Her sisters had brought her back to the hotel suite downtown. They were climbing all over her demanding answers, claiming they could smell the wolf on her. She begged them to let her shower. She needed to get his scent off of her so she could think. Lily wiped the steamy mirror so she could see her face. All the make-up gone, freckles now danced across her nose. Fake lashes gone. Straight hair now a mass of curls. Normal girl.      Lily had it all figured out. She was supposed to transform into a sexy, confident temptress. Basically everything she wasn't. She needed to make Trent Steele want her. Just for one night. She wasn't proud of what she wanted to do but she needed his power. Witches were so vulnerable nowadays. She wasn't going to hurt him. She never would. Dammit but that man did something to her. She was supposed to buy him a drink, slip in a little love spell to lubricate the moment. Whisper sweet nothings in his ear and then she could do what she needed.     However, when he came up behind her and she smelled that sandalwood and vanilla. She lost all her senses. All of her inhibitions washed away. Even thinking about him now, about his big hands on her ass. About how soft his lips were, about how good he looked on his knees. Lily's skin started to flush and she dropped her towel to the bathroom floor. She grabbed both her breasts, weighing the heavy orbs in each hand, imagining they were Trent's hands. Her reflection made her pause.  "What is wrong with me?" She was never supposed to enjoy his touch. Delight in his kisses. This was too much. She wouldn't do it. Lily put her hair up in a bun and decided to go seek out her sisters.      She pulled on her comfy gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt. They were staying in a two-bedroom suite so she figured Sophia and Mara must be in the other bedroom. As she walked in, the two girls stopped whispering to each other. Mara was the oldest of the group. Her pixie cut and dark eye make-up gave her a severe look, but she was a softie at heart.     "Lily, come here," Mara cooed. Lily melted in her lap and cried. "Lily don't squeeze me so hard. I won't let you go. Tell big sis what happened." Mara was stroking her hair just the way Lily liked. Sophia rubbed gentle circles into her back. She cried a little bit more and told her sisters everything that happened.     "So what's the problem," Sophia questioned. "Aside from letting things escalate too far in the bathroom, you got what you wanted. He likes you and wants you. Why did you let him get away?"     "You don't understand," Lily argued. " I really like him. I think that if I gave myself to him, I wouldn't want to walk away." Sophia and Mara exchanged a concerned look.  "Its just the effect of the love spell. The only reason you're reacting to him this way is because he's coming on so strong. Maybe I made it too powerful this time, " Mara reasoned.  "I didn't give it to him," Lily confessed.   "What?" Sophia and Mara exclaimed in unison.  "I didn't have a chance. I thought I would have to go up to him and offer him a drink. Especially when I walked in and he was with a group of people. He came to me and I was overwhelmed. I'm just not experienced enough. Anyway, its over. Now that he knows I'm a virgin, he'll want nothing to do with me. I couldn't possibly satisfy a man like him." Lily hugged her knees to her chest, feeling defeated and heartbroken. What would it have been like to be loved by Trent? "Enough Lily," Mara huffed. Lily looked up, startled by the harsh tone of her sister's voice. "Mara-" "No Sophia. That's enough. We're dancing around this subject like we don't all know what's going on. Why we're here. Stalking this man. Why we need him. He is the most powerful alpha wolf in North America and we found him. How many alpha's are left? Almost none. He is the last of his blood line." "There has to be another way." Lily pleaded. "There is no other way! We are white witches Lily. Our magic comes from nature and life. This is the most powerful spell that we can conjure. You are in danger because you are different. Your energies are so pure and strong... I've never seen a more potent white witch. But I can't  hide your power much longer. The darkness is drawn to you. Like a moth to a flame. I need to protect you. I don't have anything else!" Tears were flowing freely down Mara's face as she spoke. Sophia grabbed her and spoke soothing words into her ear as she sobbed. Lily was stricken. She somehow thought, if this doesn't work, something else will. She was wrong. "Lily, go rest now," Sophia suggested, as she gently rocked Mara back and forth. "You've had a long night. We'll get through this." Lily nodded and kissed Sophia and Mara goodnight. She headed to the other bedroom to pass out.  She fell into a fitful sleep as Mara's words echoed in her head. She thought of the ritual that must happen during the full moon, of blood and innocence.      Trent paced around the hotel room frustrated. He should be exhausted but he had all this nervous energy running through him. Due to his shifter genes, he didn't need to worry about having a hangover. It was almost 5 o'clock in the morning and his mind refused to shut down. At least the wedding was still a little over 24 hours away. He needed to figure out how to find Lily. Nothing made sense. His family was scattered generations ago during the Dark Wars. He didn't know the details of why the war started but it lead to the hunting of shifters. Everyone went into hiding. Many were found and slain. Names were changed, identities forgotten, legacies lost. Now shifters knew each other but they spoke in secret and rarely congregated. No one was sure when they were being watched. That was part of what bothered Trent so much about Lily. If this feeling was real and she was his mate, he would need to reveal to her what he was. That was extremely dangerous and forbidden.  Suddenly heat bloomed in Trent's chest. His heart began to race. He stood up and stumbled out onto the balcony to cool down. "What the f**k?" Trent exclaimed.  Suddenly images of Lily came to him unbidden. Her writhing underneath him as he pounded into her sweet body over and over. He could feel her legs wrapped around him, her nails scoring his back, the tightness of her cunt. His lust slammed into him so powerfully, he fell to his knees. The smell of cinnamon and cloves suddenly surrounding him. He looked around the balcony. All he could see were the buildings of downtown, the streets were empty. Suddenly the images stopped, but the smell lingered. He snagged his room key and followed the scent into the hallway. He knew he looked crazed. Shirtless with thin blue pajama bottoms on, his hair a mess from running his fingers through it constantly and to top it off a b***r that could knock down trees. But still he followed that scent.      Trent ran around the hotel for 30 minutes, determined to find the source of that smell. He was truly sweaty and exhausted at this point. Not to mention disappointed that he had found nothing. Here he was on the 11th floor of the hotel trying to find a woman that he had met less than 24 hours ago that clearly wanted nothing to do with him. If it wasn't so funny, he would cry. The sound of an ice machine brought him out of his reverie. He turned around quickly to walk back to his room when he collided with someone carrying a bucket of ice. The ice went flying and the person fell to the floor. "Excuse me!" Trent stared dumbfounded, nailed to the spot by a pair of luminous green eyes.
