I couldn't believe our child led me to find him, I looked at his cold wet face as the medics wheeled im away in the gurney.
I touched his chest and sighed “I thought I lost you forever. You scared me Mateo” I whispered.
He stirred and for a second his eyes opened and he looked at me, “Becky…” he called before closing his eyes again.
I was taken aback by this, Becky?...
Have I been stupid all this while?
Why was he thinking about Becky, I couldn't believe what I'd heard, it felt like a reality check I wasn't ready for.
A few hours later we all surrounded him as he lay hooked to wires and tanks.
“Oh My God,” I cried softly, my hands shook in anxiety and I felt my child kick again.
