For the past few days, while they were on trip, Aiden had become a lot more nicer, a lot more calmer and bit less insensitive as he usually was whenever he was around Jade. A part of her wanted to believe it was because he was learning to like her, if not tolerate her at least. Another part of her was telling her, it was because he wanted put on a show for his family so they would be fooled into believing that they were the most happiest and loving couple of all. Which was something that couldn't be further from the truth. This particular moment they were sharing together however; as they sat across from each other on the couch of their resort bedroom was somewhat special. "So what was your life like before marriage?" Aiden asked, as he sat across from her. "Work, travel, more work, travel" she said. "My life wasn't that interesting, if that's what you're getting at" she smiled. It was the first tie in a year, Aiden had shown any interest her. It delighted her to see that he cared somehow. "My life wasn't any different. Most of the time, I was working; and when I wasn't, I was probably hanging with friends" he revealed. For Jade ,talking to Aiden at the moment felt like a first date to her. They had many date like interactions before they had gotten married; but all of them had been staged for media attention and believability so their parents would trust their relationship. "Any friends?" he asked again. "I do have quite a few but I mainly spend time with my best friend Laurie" she told him. "How did you meet her?" he inquired. "I met her in primary school, when her father was transferred to our town. We've been friends ever since" Jade said. "Right" Aiden nodded. What followed was a pregnant pause; none of them knowing what to say to the other. it was especially awkward because at home, they never had a conversation past thirty seconds. Their eyes met and Jade looked away shyly. She unconsciously bit on her lips out of nervousness. "Don't do that" Aiden warned, sizing her up with lust written all over his face. She was clearly unaware of what she was doing to him. He had barely gotten over what she did to him the other day, his mum came into their room. He had to take an excruciatingly cold shower after that. "What?" she answered , biting her lips once again out of oblivion. "Damn it!" he replied hoarsely before pushing her down onto the couch. Laying on top of her, he claimed her lips in a fervent kiss. Jade was taken aback by his actions and froze. She soon relaxed into his kiss and moved according to his pace. He pushed her further into couch with his full body practically pressing against hers. She moaned gently as he rubbed her core through he clothing. "You like that?" he whispered and she nodded. Next, he cupped her breast and began to knead it slowly and torturously in his hand as she whimpered in pleasure. He reached up to unbutton her blouse when the door swung fully open. "Hey guys do you wan-" Terry stopped in his tracks. "You naughty children, you just couldn't wait till you got home could you?" he smirked. "Why wouldn't you knock!?" Aiden scolded him. "Maybe you should've locked your door!" Terry retorted. Jade was beyond embarrassed in that situation. "Anyways, have fun!" "I need a cold shower" Aiden sighed as he headed to the bathroom. ~ "What do you mean they pushed back the board meeting?!" Aiden shouted, he spoke to his P.A over the phone. "Mr Lancaster, said he had somewhere to be over the weekend and couldn't wait longer" his P.A informed him. "Damn it! What so important that he can't postpone?!" Aiden asked. "One of his hotels is opening this weekend and it's not something he can push forward due to the time scale " She explained. "Call him back IMMEDIATELY and tell him to meet up with me tonight!" he ordered. "Does he not realise the importance of this board meeting; it could cost us millions" "I understand Sir" she responded. "Call him back as soon us this call is over; if I don't meet him tonight, consider yourself FIRED!" He boomed, before hanging up. "Why are you screaming" his mum asked. "What is so serious that you scream so much!" she scolded. "Mum, please stop; this is not the time. I have to leave this afternoon if I want to catch up to Lancaster" He went into the room and began to throw his items into his suitcase. "Can't you just wait till morning?" His mum suggested. "Didn't you just hear e on the phone?. This could cost me millions" he pointed out. It hasn't been that long since dad handed over the responsibilities of the company to me, if something goes wrong I will be to blame" he added. "I could never let that happen" he explained as he changed his shirt and zipped up his bag and pulled it to the living space. " I'm leaving tonight" he announced, looking to disappear out of the suite any moment. "Why?!" His dad asked in surprise. "Work" he answered bluntly. "Any questions you have, ask mum" He started to walk to the door. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of your wife" Terry winked playfully towards Jade. "Do whatever you want with her" Aiden replied, just before making it outside the door. "Aiden!, that is no way to speak about your wife!" his father called after him but he was already gone. "I'm sorry Jade" Sadie apologised. "It's okay" she smiled weakly. "Did you two fight by any chance?" Sadie questioned. "You two have been good, what happened?" "They couldn't have fought especially because a few hours ago, they wer-" "Aiden and I are doing just fine" she cut Terry off before he could reveal the situation earlier when he walked into their room. "I'll take some rest now" she announced before going into her bedroom. The room was now empty of Aiden's clothes and presence. She felt alone for the first time since their marriage. She didn't feel this lonely and pathetic, when he left her in their hotel suite alone, on their honeymoon, in Vienna. Aiden had gone back to the cold and insensitive being she detested. She knew she was wrong to believe he had changed. She was wrong to believe their relationship stood a chance. All her hopes and dreams of them working out and becoming a real life, loving couple; were all flushed down the toilet along with any chance they had of being together. This time, she understood she had broken her own heart, by believing he would develop any form of feelings for her. She promised herself to no repeat this again. She was done holding onto hopes and dreams.
